Tell Nobody by Patricia Gibney @Trisha460 @Bookouture #TellNobody #LottieParker #BlogBlitz #Review4/10/2018 My thoughts on another fantastic addition to the #LottieParker series. #Book5
The boy’s body was so white it was almost transparent. But that’s not what caused the nausea to rise up her throat. He was so young. His body was unmarked, surrounded by a halo of plucked wildflowers.
One hot summer evening, eleven-year-old Mikey Driscoll is on the way home from playing with friends. Two days later, his body is discovered on a bed of wildflowers by some local teenagers. The case is assigned to Detective Lottie Parker and this time it’s personal. The victim was a close friend of her son, Sean, from the run-down Munbally estate on the other side of town. Sean tells his mother Mikey was behaving normally before he died, but Lottie can’t help but feel that her son is keeping something from her… Then days later, another boy is found dead, surrounded by wild flowers next to beautiful Ladystown Lake. On the hunt for a twisted individual with a terrifying calling card, Lottie must uncover the web of secrets within Mikey’s circle of friends. Someone is hiding something but who are they protecting and can Lottie find out before it’s too late? Lottie is desperate to catch the killer before he strikes again because this time her own child could be in terrible danger…
Book 5 in the amazing Lottie Parker series. This is another series I love reading and I look forward to each and every book. A series that is well worth reading. Great characters and fantastic story lines. You really need to be reading these books.
These books captivate you and drag you into those pages right from the beginning and this one, book 5 is no exception. I loved it. I really am a huge Lottie Parker fan. As soon as I started this book it felt like i'd only just left Ragmullin, and I was right back there from the get go. Lottie and her team are faced with the deaths of two young boys. This is a difficult case, not only because it's children but because there seems to be no real clues to set them off. A rollercoaster of a ride for the team. Lottie is also struggling with her home life, after losing her home to fire, she is living at her mothers with her children. It's certainly not an ideal situation, Lottie seems to really be on the edge in this book, I just can't help but like her even more with each book I read. She's still a little screwed up, but this really adds to her character and makes her stand out as an individual. Some great twists in this brilliantly written story. Although the story can be a little upsettings its put together so well. Well worth reading and totally gripping. I know I keep going on about this and I say it all the time, but I really do recommend that you read this book after reading the previous ones. I guess you could get away with reading just this one, but where is the fun in that, when you could actually read all 5 back to back. Its certainly worth knowing Lottie's back story as I feel it adds to the story. Can you believe that you can have the whole 5 book series for less than £8.00. The dark nights are drawing in, why not get yourself a snuggle blanket and this series of books, you certainly wont be disappointed.

Thrilled to be sharing my thoughts on #TheBirthday. This is one awesome read.
One hot summer’s afternoon, five-year-old Ava Sawyer went to a party. She never came home…
When five-year-old Ava Sawyer goes missing from a birthday party at a local garden centre, the police are bewildered by the lack of leads. That is until two years later, when Ava’s body is found and another little girl, Audrey Briggs, goes missing. Audrey also attended that party … Leading the investigation is Detective Natalie Ward. A mother of two teenagers, this case chills her to the bone, and is a disturbing reminder of the last job she worked on. One that still keeps her awake at night… Natalie soon discovers that Ava’s mother has some worrying gaps in her alibi and as she digs deeper, she’s sure Ava’s father is not telling the full story. And what did the owner of the garden centre Elsa see that day? Something that she’s not telling Natalie … Just as Natalie is facing up to the grim possibility that Ava and Audrey were killed by someone close to home, another little girl from the party doesn’t come home from her ballet lesson. Can Natalie find a way to stop this killer before more innocent lives are taken? Gripping, fast-paced and nail-bitingly tense, this book will keep you flying through the pages long into the night. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott and Karin Slaughter. What a perfect day to share my thoughts on this book, The Birthday, today on my Birthday.
Kicking off a new series has got to be difficult, especially when you know how readers have taken so well to your other series of books.
Carol Wyer has done this perfectly with book 1 in the Detective Natalie Ward series. If this book is anything to by then this is going to be a series to watch out for. A book filled with suspense and twists, just what you need from a damn good read. Very well written characters and a good introduction into getting to know a little about Natalie Ward. Another character that will be great getting to know more and more about over the coming books. In this book we are faced with a little girls body being found, this little girl went missing 2 years previously at a birthday party and that case has never been concluded. It baffled the police with no leads. Two years on and another little girl has gone missing, the link 'This little girl went to the same birthday party as the little girl whose body has just been found. While investigating Natalie is not convinced everyone is telling the truth, there are to many gaps in peoples recollections of what happened prior. Can Natalie Ward and her team find out more links to this case, and those much needed clues before any more children go missing. A gripping edge of your seat read, nail biting, heart pounding, unputdownable read, that will keep you turning those pages. What I mean is, I kind of really liked this book and it's well worth reading. I'm looking forward to more in this series and I can see it doing just as well and the 'Robyn Carter' series.
About the author:
Carol Wyer garnered a loyal following as an author of romantic comedies, and won The People’s Book Prize Award for non-fiction (2015). In 2017 she stepped from comedy to the “dark side” and embarked on a series of thrillers, featuring the popular DI Robyn Carter, which earned her recognition as a crime writer. If you love Martina Cole, Kimberley Chambers, Casey Kelleher and Jessie Keane, you’ll love Dangerous Girl.
Sometimes your enemies are closer than you think Anna is finally happy. She’s rid of her abusive ex and she’s co-owner of London’s hottest new club, with her best friend Tanya. But she is worried about her boyfriend, Freddie. He’s keeping things from her. And he won’t tell her where he goes in the middle of the night. Freddie is furious. A girl has gone missing from one of his clubs and the police are all over him. When a familiar face turns up and threatens him, he’s offered a deal – find the girl or Anna will be killed. With time running out, Freddie risks everything to save Anna’s life. And if there’s one thing Freddie Tyler is known for, it’s that he never gives up. Not without a fight… My thoughts on this 5* Read.
Dangerous Girl, What a read. A damn enjoyable page turner. I started this book an afternoon I wasn't feeling so good. It certainly helped take my mind of the crappy things happening in real life. I was lost in those pages and the lives and crimes of the characters.
I recently read Runaway Girl, which is the first book, so I was thrilled when I realised this, Dangerous Girl was a follow on. I Can safely say if you enjoy reading the likes of Casey Kelleher, Jessie Keane, Jacqui Rose then you will love these books. Personally I would say read these books in order for a better background feel, I don't think it would matter if you didn't, but I love knowing the history of characters from the beginning. I love the characters of Anna and Freddie, the straight as a die woman with the gangland partner makes great reading. The daughter of a very influential man has gone missing. She disappeared after visiting Freddie Tylers club. Last seen on CCTV outside of his club. This has the police crawling all over his club, not something Freddie Tyler needs. He is somehow dragged into the search for her, and it's a race against time to figure out what has actually happened. There is some violence in this book, but I would say if you like the gangland crime style books, then you won't find it over the top. It's what helps make these types of books. A damn good unputdownable read, and I for one can't wait for more. Emma Tallon is certainly going to be one of those authors whose books you 'MUST' read. I knew that after book one, and when this book become available as an ARC on Netgalley, I didn't even bother reading what it was about, I just clicked that request button. You may also enjoy
Emma Tallon is a British, gritty crime writer, adventurer, Londoner and mother to a young son. Starting her career a few years ago as a ghostwriter, Emma crafted some of the most adventurous, edgy and heart-wrenching stories you can find on the shelves today.
In March 2017 Emma stepped out of the literary shadows and self-published her first book, Life Game. The book was an instant success, the results far exceeding anything she had expected. As news of Life Games popularity spread, she joined forces with W.F.Howes and the audiobook was launched in October 2017. In December 2017, Emma signed a three book deal with publishers Bookouture. This included Life Game which was changed, re-edited and re-released as Runaway Girl. Drawing inspiration for her books from a mixture of her own observations and an active imagination, the characters Emma paints are colourful and larger than life. Her story lines are an interesting recipe of deep emotion and violent grit, that keep her readers engrossed. Melissa Sanderson is the perfect wife and mother. She dotes on her daughter, and lives in her dream home in a quiet cul-de-sac in the suburbs.
But looks can be deceiving. Something is amiss in that house – all the neighbours think so. Some say Melissa is having an affair. Others say she’s been drinking too much. Then one night, sirens wake up the whole neighbourhood. Melissa Sanderson is dead. Another great read from this very talented author. 4/5*
I couldn't wait to start this book. After reading book one I knew to expect a high standard of reading and a story that was going to grip you. I wasn't disappointed.
Melissa Sanderson seems to be the lady that has it all, the perfect life. We always say though, you never know what goes on behind closed doors. Living with her husband Darrell and their beautiful baby girl Mia. Life is about to change in this lovely cul-de-sac. Detective Gina Harte has just arrived back from a holiday, she's not even had time to get changed before she's back working. Working a murder case that is not only confusing but brutal. There are a number of characters in this book that I really didn't like. ( I don't think I was supposed to like them) You have the feeling of knowing what is going to happen, yet there is nothing you can do. This book was brilliantly written, and I'm concerned should I write any of what went on in the story, it would give away to many spoilers, and I don't want to be doing that. What I can say is this book grips you, it keeps you going, keeps you wanting and needing more. It has you holding your breath, the suspense is wonderfully done. Getting to know Gina Harte just that little bit more is good, I can see a lot more good coming from this character, and I for one certainly can't wait for the next instalment. The Forgotten. Can she find Scarlett – before it’s too late? Or will Nancy’s life of crime come back to haunt her in the worst way possible? A gritty and hard-hitting thriller packed with shocking twists… Fans of Martina Cole and Kimberly Chambers won’t be able to put this down. Byrne Family Trilogy (3 Book Series)
Thrilled to bits, is a bit of an understatement to be lucky enough to get an ARC of this book. I have loved this series of books and here we are at book 3.
What a flipping read it was. I loved every single page, every chapter made you want to read on, just one more, just one more. If this book had been 800 pages long I would have still wanted more. Casey Kelleher certainly knows how to write a book that gets you hooked, I don't know how but each and every book beats the last one. when finishing the last book you just don't believe that it can ever be topped but Casey has managed that, TEN FOLD. I'm more than a little impressed with these books. Back with the Byrne family, It's been great following this family through life's struggles and It's great to see how Nancy has grown up and really come into herself. Now the head of the Byrne empire, Nancy takes nonsense from no one. Nancy is now also trying to be a good mother to her baby girl. Still keeping the business going and juggling motherhood, Nancy is besides herself when the past catches up and her beautiful daughter Scarlett is snatched from the park. One thing is for sure Nancy will go to the ends of the earth to get her little girl back, but is it to late? There has to come a time in life that if you take things from others, that one day it will be payback. An outstanding read, if you have read any other book by this author and enjoyed it, then let me tell you, this is the best book yet. What more is there to say, I mean shall I waffle on about it or shall I just say, go buy it, go treat yourself. If you haven't read any of these books then you'd be thrilled to know that all 3 books are available and less than £6. I mean come on we spend that on tatt some days. Spend it on something that will give you hours of entertainment. These books will certainly do that. Imagine if your going away anytime soon, you could just rest, relax and get lost in the world of the Byrne family. I'm speechless as to how much I enjoyed everything there was about this book. Best one yet!

The struggles of war will build the strongest of friendships…
1940, Liverpool: Best friends Alice Turner and Millie Markham work for the war effort at Rootes munitions factory, making shell caps and Halifax bombers. Alice’s sweetheart Terry is home from the front for a brief period of leave, and the women are excitedly planning a whirlwind wedding. But the honeymoon is soon over, and the ever-present air raid sirens quickly bring Alice back down to earth. When a terrible explosion at the factory leads to a tragic death, and a loved one is announced missing in action, it’s only their friendship and the support of the other factory girls which help to keep Alice and Millie’s spirits up. As the war stretches on with no sign of an ending, can Alice and Millie help one another make it through – and find happiness even in the darkest of times? The Factory Girls of Lark Lane is a heart-wrenching family saga about women in World War 2, the strength of friendship, and hope. If you’re a fan of Nadine Dorries, Diney Costeloe and Kitty Neale, you’ll love Pam Howes!
I have said this before, this is not the usual genre I normally read, but after reading Pam's Liverpool girls books, I couldn't wait to read this one.
Pam has a unique way of writing these war time stories. It's almost as if you could have actually been there when reading them. You really are taken into the story and the surroundings, living the lives of the characters through the words. Heart warming and heart breaking the lives of families living through WWII. 1940's in Liverpool where families are saying goodbye to their loved ones, families torn apart by war, families that stick together through thick and thin. Alice and Terry are getting married and while everyone loves a good wedding it can be a difficult thing to do during the war. Getting married and saying goodbye to your now husband the day after must truly be heart breaking. This is what happened to this young couple. Life for Alice as a married woman doesn't start off the way we all imagine a marriage should. With families and friendship Alice has to get on with life, while here husband is away fighting in a war. It's a time when everyone comes together when everyone is going through the same things. It's amazing when you look back just how people managed to get through this time of their lives. It's safe to say Pam has worked a blinder with this book, have some tissues at the ready and get yourself stuck in. Get lost in those pages just like I did, get taken to another time what could almost feel like another world. This book is written beautifully and is really difficult to put down once you start it. The Factory Girls of Lark Lane is a first class read and I certainly can't wait for more from this author.

Publication Day: 19th June Buy link: myBook.to/CTDSocial Description: An absolutely gripping mystery thriller with a jaw-dropping twist. This book will hook you from page one and keep you reading ‘just one more chapter’ late into the night. On a damp October day, a body is found in an abandoned hospital, too burnt to be identified, but Detective Alex King knows that every victim is someone’s daughter or son. Pushing aside her own troubles, Alex puts everything into finding the killer, but when someone else is found dead, she begins to suspect that the body in the hospital was just the first of many. Just as Alex uncovers a heartbreaking link between the victims, she finds her own safety under threat. Is this a figure from her past hell-bent on revenge, or could the murderer be even nearer than she thinks? Alex is running out of time. Can she catch the killer before they take another life, or will they get to her first? A completely unputdownable detective thriller that will keep you up all night. Readers of Robert Bryndza, Karin Slaughter and Angela Marsons will love this.
Nobody’s Child by Victoria Jenkins is book 3 in the Detectives King & Lane. This is a series I've really enjoyed so far. I have just read book 1, 2 and 3 back to back. It was great doing so as I didn't have to wait for the next one each time, until I finished this beauty and now I have the 'I WANT THE NEXT BOOK syndrome. This one really does have you on the edge of your seat. It's one of those books you can't put down. Some fantastic twists and a brilliant story line. If you haven't read any of these books then I really do suggest you start now, and do what I've just done and read them back to back. When a body is found in a burnt out former hospital it's down to Alex and Chloe to get working on the case, who is it, what was he/she doing there. Why did the fire start or more so who started the fire? It's no time at all that the case escalates and Alex and her team really do have their work cut out. Alex is also battling her own issues, but can't let it stop her finding who this killer is. As always Alex throws her all into her case. I've enjoyed getting to know Alex and Chloe over these 3 books, I do however feel there is still a lot we don't know about them and I really am looking forward to reading more and learning more about them as this series progresses. I can see this becoming one hell of damn good series, I feel there will be an awful lot of readers out there eagerly waiting for each instalment. This really is a detective thriller that gets you hooked and keeps you their right up to the end. Easily the best one yet. LOVED IT!

One hot summer night, a young woman falls from a rooftop to her death. Detective Alex King is called to the quiet terraced street. The victim, Keira North, was twenty, happy and carefree. It seems like an accident, but there’s broken glass on the carpet, and witnesses overheard an argument. Could someone have wanted her dead? Keira’s friends don’t seem as helpful as Alex would expect and the post-mortem reveals that Keira was hiding a secret: she was five months pregnant. Alex’s team soon finds that all of Keira's closest friends have secrets that someone might kill to keep. As Alex realises Keira might be just the first victim on a list, her leads take her a bit too close to home. With her own demons to fight, can Alex catch the killer, before someone else dies? The First One to Die is a heart-stopping and shocking detective thriller that will have you gripped until the very last page. Perfect for fans of Patricia Gibney, Angela Marsons, and Val McDermid.
Well well, what a jolly good series this is turning into. I recently read book 1 and enjoyed it so I was really looking forward to getting stuck into this one, book 2 of the series. Sometimes being behind in a series has it's advantages. As soon as I finished this one, I went right onto book 3.
I found in this book we got to know a lot more of Alex and Chloe, i'm loving the characters they are turning into and I fell they work really well together. I'm enjoying as I always do with book series getting to know the individual characters. In this book Alex is called out to what looks like a possible suicide or an accident of a young girl. It soon becomes clear to Alex that this is not an accident and that Keira North did not just fall to her death. This book has some great twists and turns, a great storyline and it certainly keeps you wanting to read on, so much so that as soon as i finished it, I went right onto book 3. Lot's of secrets revealed and trouble caused. Fantastic read. Carol Wyre - The Chosen One. #Review @CarolWyer @Bookouture ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #BlogTour #TheChosenOnes25/5/2018 Thrilled to be taking part in the Blog Tour for a series I've grown to love. They had not been forgiven. And they would never be forgotten …. This is a series I have thoroughly been enjoying. I was excited at the way the story started as I had some questions still from the previous book, and I was eager to get started to find out what was happening. It's a must read series, and my personal opinion is that the books are read in order. Carol has done a superb job with this one, wow what a read! It's safe to say I enjoyed it, and I enjoyed it A LOT! We still have the story of Davies running through the background of this book, and I really thought I was going to get my answers in this book, I think Carol is being a bit of a tease now, as I have to wait for the next book. It's a wait I don't want, I want answers and I want them now. lol Detective Robyn Carter is faced with a new case, the body of a young man has been found in a farmers field. The team are soon on the case, trying to find any background on this young man and what could have been the reasons for his killing. Before long another body is found. Robyn and her team are working like hell to find if there is a link here. It really has you thinking if there is a link and what It could be. There is clearly a cold hearted killer out there, the reasons for the killing I just couldn't work out. I tell you what though, as I neared the ending of the book, it's safe to say I would have never guessed, and the reasonings behind things were awesome. Carol Wyer has written this book just brilliantly. Twisty and edge of you seat reading here, and any crime thriller fan will love this one, I'm totally blown away with it. Certainly the best one yet.

An absolutely hilarious, laugh-‘til-you-cry, romantic comedy about how life never quite goes to plan…
Faye Dobson is in crisis. You wouldn’t know it, because of the big fat smile on her face, but inside, she’s one step away from nuclear meltdown. And she shouldn’t be. Dan ?? is the man of her dreams. Her really quite energetic dreams, that frequently come true. Sometimes twice in one night. And he’s just asked her to marry him. But Faye’s been down the marriage road before and it ended up with her having Ryan Gosling fantasies while her ex-husband obsessed about the plumbing. The actual plumbing. Faye and Dan have been living their lives to the fullest, travelling around the world, having sex under the stars... They haven’t argued about unrolling socks before putting them in the laundry. Besides, even if she wanted to say yes, how could she move to the other side of the world? Because marrying Dan would mean living in Australia. Beautiful, warm and a gazillion miles from Faye’s daughter, Emma, a single mum with her own crazy little girl who both need Faye every single day. Leaving them – even for someone who makes her laugh as much as Dan – simply isn’t an option. Dan is offering Faye everything she ever wanted. So why does she feel like she’s about to lose it all? Love, Lies and Wedding Cake
OHHH my dayzzz, was I happy to get my mitts on this book. I need to start with, if you haven't read any of Sue Watsons books, then where the hell have you been.
Her books, are awesomely funny, with amazing storylines. Sue Watson has a knack of writing books that make you feel good, once you've read some of Sue's books you'd understand what I mean when I say, just looking at the covers makes you smile. Sitting down with these books, you feel like a big fluffy duvet has been wrapped around you. (oh wait it has) Hot Chocolate, a slice of cake, turn the phone off, lock the door. Once you start, there really is no stopping you. The books are adictive, easy to read, and fun. I have to admit you do get some funny looks if your out in public while reading these, with a stupid grin on your face, and laughing out loud. Anyway, back to this book. Love, Lies and Wedding Cake. The book has such a real life feel to it. You can actually picture yourself in the places described, doing the thing that the characters are doing, it really does feel like real life. It's certainly a welcome escape from my real life. lol I absolutely adored this book. There is a great mix of characters, some of them are first class. I loved Faye, I love the banter she had in the salon with Mandy and how her 4 year old grandaughter Rosie picked up on everything she shouldn't pick up on. Some of the scenes in this book had me helpless. Faye and Dan are in love, doing the things that make both of them happy. Living life to the full. That is until Dan pops the question. It's not that Faye is against marriage, it's more that with that marriage comes the reality that for it to happen, Faye would have to move to the other side of the world. Dan wants her to move to Australia with him. Faye can't do that, she has a course she's finishing, a job, a daughter and a granddaughter that need her. How on earth could she move to the other side of the world. It's just not going to happen. There is so so much I want to say about this book, and I know nothing I write is ever going to do the book any justice. It's a first class, funny, in parts hilarious read. Yet it also carries an element of ' if you want it, go get it' Stop letting things get in your way. Stop making obstacles for yourself. If you are going away this year, or just plan on sitting in your garden or even sitting in the park in your lunch break, this is the book you need with you.

Originally from Manchester, Sue now lives with her husband and teenage daughter in Worcestershire where her days are spent baking (and eating) lots of cake, while making big life decisions about whether to have Caramel Chew Chew or Salted Caramel ice cream while watching 'My 600lb Life,' on the sofa.
