Sunshine and Second Chances: A heart-warming, feel-good summer read about friendship, love and second chances.
What a read. What a thoroughly enjoyable read. Anyone with any doubts of the direction their life is going in needs to read this book. Never mind counselling follow in the footsteps of these ladies. Book a holiday grab some friends and go and have a good old time.
4 friends turning 50 all go away together. Although they have been friends for a long time they don't see each other very often. After all going away on their 21st birthday year they promised to do it again when they were turning 50. No one ever really knows what is going on in someone's life unless they decide to share it. That is what happened here. of the ladies, 1 is divorced, 1 caring for her mother, 1 grieving and 1 with the perfect life. These ladies go on a journey to find themselves over the course of their weeks holiday. I think I almost found myself while reading this. I love a book that is fun, meaningful and stays with you once you have finished and this was certainly one of those books. Its one you will think about long after finishing reading it. An absolutely amazing uplifting read that I really didn't want to put down. Kim has managed to bring the characters of her book to life, these ladies felt like friends by the end of this book. I felt like I knew enough about them to be a close friend. What I think would be amazing is a book about each of these ladies on how life has changed after their holiday. I'd love to learn more about them. Especially Debs. I think she was my favourite character. Cant wait for more from this author.

JACKMAN & EVANS Book 6
From #1 best-selling author Joy Ellis, a totally absorbing mystery full of stunning twists and turns. Discover the author who’s sold over two million books globally.
A MYSTERY WHICH WILL CAPTIVATE YOU FROM START TILL THE DRAMATIC ENDING JACKMAN AND EVANS’ MOST DANGEROUS ENEMY IS BACK TO FINISH THINGS OFF The domestic bliss of Detective Inspector Rowan Jackman of Fenland Constabulary doesn’t last long. His nemesis, serial killer Alistair Ashcroft, is back in town and ready to tidy up unfinished business. Ashcroft sends a sinister text to DS Marie Evans. His opening move in what will prove to be a lethal game of cat-and-mouse. Yet for all his taunts, where is he? In a county crawling with police on the lookout for him, Ashcroft is nowhere to be found. EVERYONE JACKMAN CARES ABOUT IS IN DANGER Alongside the hunt for Ashcroft, normal police work must continue. The separate thefts of guns, six pigs, a thoroughbred stallion and some oil lead Jackman’s crew to the notorious Lorimer family, ruled over on their farm by the fearsome matriarch Rachel. Meanwhile, a seemingly routine break-in at the home of gun-club owner Kenneth Harcourt quickly becomes more complicated when the man long held responsible for having killed Harcourt’s young daughter in a hit-and-run is shot dead in a carpark — by a sniper. A killer is on the loose in the quiet streets of Saltern-le-Fen and he isn’t going to stop at claiming one life. But why is he focusing on young Kevin, so close to promotion to detective? A LETHAL GAME WITH A VERY PATIENT MAN And the sniper, like Ashcroft, takes to taunting the police: they’ll never catch him, they need to respect him, they shouldn’t be side-tracked looking for their old adversary. In a stunning conclusion, Jackman and Evans race against time to catch the sniper and track down their deadly adversary. Full of twists and turns, this is a crime thriller that will keep you turning the pages until the shocking ending. Set in the atmospheric Lincolnshire Fens whose towns and isolated villages hide many dark secrets. CAN THEY FINALLY STOP ALISTAIR ASHCROFT?
Joy Ellis is one of the best crime writers around. I absolutely love all her books, I'm particularly keen on her Fens series and the characters in them.
Joy has a knack of bringing characters to life and managing to engage you the reader into the story. Joy has written some amazing edge of your seat reads, The team have their hands full looking for a particularly nasty killer, the team know who thie killer is but cannot find him. Jackman and Evans are more than determined that this killer Is going to be caught. Amazing story line and the plot drags you along so smoothly.
The one place she never wanted to go back to. The one place she can’t escape.

Jax is out of control, and the gang’s violent reprisals are escalating. Can Lucy face down her own demons in time to prevent a tragedy? As a child, she already witnessed the murder of one innocent person. It will take all her courage and training to stop another. A shocking, fast-paced read that will keep you gripped from beginning to end. Fans of Kimberley Chambers and Martina Cole won’t be able to put this down.
Well well!
Casey Kelleher does it again. What another fantabulous read. It's safe to say I have never been disappointed with any book by this author, this is an author that I don't even need to read what the book is about, if CK has written it, I want to read it. CK is an expert at drawing you into the story, making you feel like you could almost be a part of these lives. You are certainly kept on your toes when reading these books. Lucy Murphy witnessed tragedy in her childhood. Its something you would never wish anyone to see, never mind a young child. Lucy is a police officer with a heart and back working on the estate in which she grew up. The Griffin estate is one of those estates you love to hear or read about but would not like to actually live on. Now working in CID, Lucy has no choice but to be there as this is where her case needs investigating. Some fantastic characters in this book I really liked getting to know Lucy and her Nan, whom she looks after was wonderful character with a heart-breaking story, I really felt involved with this part of the book more than the rest, I really got myself involved in wanting to actually help her. This delicate subject in the book has been done beautifully. Amazing journey following the character in this book, there are some horrible, (but you can't help liking) kind of characters, and characters that you just love and are rooting for. I enjoyed the story of brother and sister Shannon and Kian. Shannon is young with her head on her shoulders and her brother is getting mixed up in to thigs he shouldn't be. following their day to day lives was realistic and topical. Typical estate behaviour. I can't recommend this book highly enough and no words I have will ever do it justice. The best thing to do is treat yourself, put your feet up and have a good read. I'd love to hear what others thought of it. fantastic read.

A page-turning, gritty gangland crime novel perfect for fans of Martina Cole and Kimberley Chambers!Grace Sumner turned her back on the Liverpool gangland scene, determined to raise her baby daughter Belle away from a life of crime and killings. She might have been the boss once, but now Grace just wants to live a normal life…
Until she learns that her eldest son Jake has got himself mixed up in some bad business. In over his head and out of control, Jake needs pulling back in line, before he gets himself killed. But with Grace gone, no one can tell Jake what to do. Which means only one thing for Grace… The boss is back!
Book 2 in this amazing series. It was great reading this book, I read and loved the first book The Boss. So I was really eagre to see where this book would go.
A brilliant Gangland crime read that will be up the charts in no time, Caz Finlay deserves her recognition as being one of the best, writers of Gritty Gang land crime. These books are going to do well and I can't wait to follow the characters on their journeys. From the first page to the very last, I wanted and needed to read, I wanted to know what was happening, this book had mad me gripped. Grace Sumner is back, and boy is she needed. It doesn't take much to get her back in to the Liverpool Underworld. Her son had been running things, its pretty clear he's not really up to it and it's now down to Grace to get things back on track. Grace has also been keeping a big secret and Its not long before this secret comes out, but will she be forgiven. I know this author has another book out. I think it's August 2020 and I really can't wait for it. |
