A SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLER
A RICHARD & JUDY BOOK CLUB PICK FOR SPRING 2017
When the body of a young girl is found hanging from a tree, the only clue the police have is an airline tag around her neck. It reads ‘I’m travelling alone’.
In response, police investigator Holger Munch is immediately charged with assembling a special homicide unit. But to complete the team, he must track down his former partner, Mia Krüger – a brilliant but troubled detective – who has retreated to a solitary island with plans to kill herself.
Reviewing the file, Mia finds something new – a thin line carved into the dead girl’s fingernail: the number 1. She knows that this is only the beginning. To save other children from the same fate, she must find a way to cast aside her own demons and stop this murderer from becoming a serial killer.

Well this is the first book I have read from this author. I've had it on my TBR for quite some time, being at home poorly has meant that i've manages to get through a good chunk of my backlog of books.
I had read some great reviews on this book and was looking forward to reading it, a cold day, bad snow showers, the fire on and blanket wrapped around me was the perfect setting for me to dive in.
I'm travelling alone, a lot can be said about the title of a book, and this one sounded quite eerie.
This book certainly manages to hold your attention and keep you guessing throughout. A great story line that draws you in.
i'll not go into the story as I feel the description of the books tells us enough, i wouldn't like to spoil it for anyone.
This is certainly worth reading, a gripping story that will keep you entertained the whole way through.
