A gorgeously romantic novel about fame, friendship and falling in love
Sophie May has a secret.
One that she's successfully kept for years. It's meant that she's had to give up her dreams of going to university and travelling the world to stay in her little village, living with her mum and working in the local teashop.
But then Sophie unexpectedly meets the gorgeous Billy Buskin - a famous actor with ambitions to make it to the top. As they begin to grow closer, Sophie finds herself whisked away from the comfort of her life into Billy's glamorous - but ruthless - world.
After years of shying away from attention, can Sophie handle the constant scrutiny that comes with being with Billy? How much is she prepared to give up along the way? And is their love strong enough to keep them together against the odds?
Charming, heart-warming and utterly romantic, Billy and Me is an unforgettable story that will completely capture your heart.

This is the first book I have read by Giovanna Fletcher, I think it's safe to say it won't be the last. I thoroughly enjoyed every single page of this book.
Sophie May is a wonderful character, living in the Kent countryside and working in a tea shop, Sophie doesn't realise how much her life is going to change when actor Billy Buskin visits the shop. A friendship and romance soon blossoms, but can quiet and private Sophie cope with the attention that comes with dating an actor.
I loved the setting of the Tea shop that Sophie worked in and her amazing elderly boss Molly was a character I really loved.
I can't believe how much I got lost in this book. Page after page I felt that I had become part of this little world.
A Brilliantly told story, keeps you gripped throughout, I read this book in no time, the pages just flowed so well and dragged me along.
Smiles and tears throughout this book, what a brilliant story.

Flicking through my kindle wondering what to read next, I realised I had purchased this book back in August 2015, so I thought it high time I read it. As I also have the next book I thought it would be good to catch up on a series I hadn't started yet.
I had read a few reviews on the books a good while back, and decided I needed to go into it with an open mind.
While it was an interesting read, I found I struggled quite a bit with some of the pronunciations, but tried not to let this put me off.
Set mostly in Amsterdam, The Girl Who Wouldn't Die is the first of what I believe is so far 4 books.
It's a readable read, but I didn't find myself drawn in, or really needing to keep picking up the book. It didn't seem to grab me or hold me and I found I continued reading for the sake of reading it.
I will however continue with the series as I am hoping the next book will draw me in some more, and being a little more familiar with the characters should help me along.

Detective Inspector Matthew Adams is slowly picking up the pieces from a case that nearly cost him the lives of his entire family and his own sanity too. On the surface, he seems to be moving on, but he drinks to forget – and when he closes his eyes, the nightmares still come.
But the past is the past – or is it? Because the evil Patrick Sullivan might be out of the picture, but there’s somebody who is just as intent on making Matthew’s life hell, and they’re doing it in the cruellest way possible.

When Matthew finds himself accused of a horrific and violent crime, will his family stand by him? And will he even be around to help when his new enemy goes after them as well?

Having just read and thoroughly enjoyed the first book in this series, After She's Gone, I really couldn't wait to start this one. Book 2 sees us back in the life of DI Matthew Adams, and his family.
Becky his wife, Ashley his Niece and little Mia his 2 yr. old Daughter. What more can life throw at this family.
Well, an awful lot as it happens.
At a family wedding, still suffering from the trauma of them all being attacked by Patrick Sullivan, the Adams Family are  trying to continue with normal family life, whatever normal is.
But normal family life isn't going to be possible when Matthew becomes an internet sensation, and not in a good way. A video of him has been posted on line, and has soon gone viral. With no recollection of what happened, its down to him to piece everything together and figure out what the hell went on. And why.
Why is Ashley's friend Jasmine so intent on being a nasty evil piece of work.

The character of Jasmine, I hated right from the word go, and it was around a quarter of the way through when I started to wonder if she was a certain person.
I was proved right, my detective skills working full throttle, But I think that is because I read this book right after the first one, If I had left any time between books I don't think I'd have made the connection so early. Having guessed did not take anything away from the book, I think it added to the suspense of who was who and they whys behind the crimes committed.

The author has done an astounding job with this book, characters you hate, that if possible I could have quite happily put my hand into my kindle and throttled Jasmine. But at the same time I wanted to love and reassure the Adams family that everything would be ok, of course it wasn't but I so wanted to support them.
I really was dragged into this book, and I have read this one like the first one, at every opportunity.
I loved the story line and think it was brilliantly put together but this book took my mind away from everything other that what was happing in the book, it held my interest the whole of the way through it. I flew through the first quarter of the book, holding my breath wondering how the hell it was going to turn out.
Just brilliant, I can't say much more than Just brilliant.
I eagerly await more from this author and I need to read more about DI Matthew Adams.

Another interesting easy read from Karen Woods. I have bought but not yet read all of Karen's books. Some I've loved more than others, and by far Broken Youth and Black Tears are still my all time favourites.
In this book we see Harpur Murray trying to come to terms with the loss of her borther, she becomes so obsessed with how or why he died that her own life seems to be taking on mind of its own, dragged along with grief can she find the answers she desperately wants.
It's not only destroying her but her marriage to, and spurred on by her best friend things soon become a little to much and she's getting in deeper and deeper with an old flame she has met via social media.
Another interesting read, but it didn't grab me as much as some of Karen's other books have. I'm sure fans of Karen's work will enjoy this, but for me it felt like some of the Grit was missing from it.
All in all an enjoyable read, but it still can't top some of Karen's better work.

He’s killed your child and kidnapped your wife. What would YOU do?
There’s evil and then there’s Patrick Sullivan. A drug dealer, pimp and murderer, there are no depths to which Patrick would not sink, and Detective Inspector Matthew Adams has found this out in the most devastating way imaginable.
When Patrick’s brother is shot dead in a drug bust gone wrong, the bitter battle between the two men intensifies, and Matthew finds it increasingly difficult to hold the moral high ground. All he wants is to make the pimping scum suffer the way he did … the way Lily did.

But being at war with such a depraved individual means that it’s not just Matthew who’s in danger. Patrick has taken a lot from Matthew, but he hasn’t taken everything – and now he wants everything.

Well Sheryl Browne is a new author for me, but I can certainly say this won't be the only book I read from this author. What a fantastic read.
I found myself so lost and engrossed in this book, I really couldn't put it down.
A story of how hatred can ruin lives.
The first book in a new series, DI Matthew Adams is a cop on a mission. And that is to put his childhood bully and now Criminal, Patrick Sullivan behind bars. For Good.
Matthew and his wife Becky are trying to rebuild life after a tragedy, But Sullivan seems hell bent on Matthew and his family suffering, and is out for blood after the death of his brother.
I got so involved in this book right from the off, I needed to read it, I needed to carry on reading at every opportunity. I was holding my breath wondering what the hell was going to happen next.
I can't say to much about the actual story, as I feel I would give far to much away and spoil it for anyone who has not read it.
But what I can say is, it's a brilliant story, engrossing and well worth spending your time reading. Make yourself comfy and get stuck in.
I was lucky to receive an Arc of this book, and thrilled that I have now found another author who I can add to my must read list.
A truly fantastic unputdownable read. A must read for all Crime thriller fans.

A special thanks to Shell over on http://chellesbookreviews.blogspot.co.uk/ for pointing me in the right direction to this book. I was thrilled to be able to read an Arc of it.

My thoughts.

Picture
Oh My DAYZZZZZZ I Love Nigel May's books. I have become a big fan after reading some of his other books.
Glitz and Glamour in abundance.
I was introduced to Nigel's books by a blogging buddy #BookAddictShaun and I'm eternally grateful for the recommendations.
Thanks also to Bookouture, Kim Nash and Nigel for allowing me an ARC of this book and inviting me to be part of this blog tour. It's an Honour as always.

So the book, well well well, what can I say. It's fantastic as usual, Nigel certainly sets the bar high, and you can sometimes worry that when an author has written so many good books, the worry is that can they keep it up, well hell yeah, Nigel certainly can. It seems that each book Nigel writes just gets better and better.
Some great characters in this book, and I feel we was introduced to them brilliantly. I find when there are characters that you love and characters that you hate, then the author has done a perfect job.

I know I've said it previously but I really couldn't put this book down. I read it at every opportunity and it only took me a couple of days to get through it. I read it everywhere, every chance I got.

We are slowly introduced to a whole list of colourful characters, that bit by bit come together, as you start to realise who or how they all know each other.

Dexter Franklin is opening a new restaurant in St Tropez. He has hand picked his guests,  each one totally different to the next. This is set to be a night to remember.
Why has Dexter hand picked this group for his opening night. Slowly secrets and lies of each character begin to surface.

Superbly written and very well put together. I really can't wait for more from Nigel. He certainly knows how to write a book that gets you hooked from the very beginning. That is why I'm giving this book 5 big fat Glittery, Sparkly, Sexy stars.

About the author:

Nigel May has been described as "the UK's male Jackie Collins" and "the readers' Viagra" and is an author and TV host. His six page-turning fiction novels have all been published by Bookouture.

His first glam fiction novel was TRINITY, an action-packed blockbuster (or bonkbuster) about the lives of the rich and famous and three young women at the heart of it. Glamour, beauty, fame and celebrity mix with murder, intrigue and danger to create an explosive novel which gained incredible reviews and fans across the globe.

The glitz-meets-grit whodunit ADDICTED was another huge success and once again dived into the diamond-dipped world of the mega-rich as four women face their demons. But all of the money and celebrity fame in the world do not guarantee a happy ending. Especially for one of them...

SCANDALOUS LIES is steeped in secrets, sin, sex and scandal and takes readers around the world as a mysterious celebrity disappearance is investigated. Will weathergirl Georgia be able to find out what is behind her best friend's inexplicable vanishing before it's too late?

Spicy crime on overload for DEADLY OBSESSION, a gritty and glamorous psychological tale set in gangland Manchester that is dynamic and thrilling in all areas to the very last page. When Amy sees her husband gunned down at their nightclub, The Kitty Kat Club, she faces life as a young widow. But then six months later, a letter arrives from beyond the grave...

LOVERS AND LIARS is a truly tropical burst of storytelling where money and sex go hand in hand with murder. When Millionaire playboy Sheridan Rivers is found dead at his luxurious hotel on the paradise island of Barbados, there are several suspects in the frame. But who delivered the fatal blow?

Completing his sexy six-pack, REVENGE is a total page-turner. In the South of France, playground of the rich and famous, world renowned chef Dexter Franklin is organising a night to remember. As he opens the doors to his exclusive restaurant for the first time, he’s handpicked a list of guests, as hot and dazzling as the St Tropez sun itself. Three women have a past with Dexter and a grudge to bear against him. As fireworks ignite in the jet set capital of Europe, there’s murder on the menu. Who will be served their just desserts?

His books have been Amazon best sellers, read by celebrities and fellow authors alike, and have proved that a man can successfully write in a 'glam fiction bonkbuster world' that has always been a strongly female domain.

Nigel was also the only male writer amongst 44 authors featured in the chart-topping, beach-read anthology of short-stories SUNLOUNGER. He also contributed a short story to SUNLOUNGER 2.

He regularly presents on UK television where he has built up a substantial following. He has also featured on Channel 4, C5, ITV and broadcast live from America. He is also one of the UK's most popular craft personalities, having launched his own successful range, A-May-Zing.

As a writer he has written for many of the UK's most successful magazines and newspapers, specialising in showbiz and celebrity, as well as writing on subjects ranging from relationships through to exotic travel

What if the person you love most in the world was in terrible danger … because of you?

Three years ago, Toni’s five-year-old daughter Evie disappeared after leaving school. The police have never been able to find her. There were no witnesses, no CCTV, no trace.

But Toni believes her daughter is alive. And as she begins to silently piece together her memories, the full story of the past begins to reveal itself, and a devastating truth.

Toni’s mind is trapped in a world of silence, her only chance to save herself is to manage the impossible. She must find a way to make herself heard. She must find her daughter.

4/5

I recently read Safe With Me by K.L. Slater, and really enjoyed it. So I was excited when I got approved to read an early copy of this book via Netgalley. And I couldn't wait to start it.
Another great book. Very well written and well put together. And I have to say all the way through I just kept wondering which way the story could go. I have to say though that I did not expect the ending we had. In fact I'm not sure what I expected if I'm honest lol.  Once you have read it and you sit back and think about the story I think the clues were there, you just don't realise until afterwards.
It is very Cleverley put together.

A mothers worst nightmare, her child going missing, add into that guilt and blaming yourself because if you hadn't been late would Evie not have gone missing. The guilt makes Toni's live a living hell. And if she wasn't coping to well with her husbands death, what is this going to do to her.

Toni and her daughter have moved to a new town, a new start after the death of her husband. It's just what they need isn't it. Toni finds herself a job and Evie has a place at the local school. Things can only get better for them, Cant they? Toni also has the help of her mother as her and Evie have moved closer to her. But is her mother just a little overbearing, is her mother not helping with things.

Brilliantly written and very well put together. This story will have you guessing what is going to happen next, and you'll probably get it wrong.
There is enough going on to keep you interested, keep you wanting to turn the pages, but not to much that you can't follow it.
The story flips between the present day and three years earlier, I found this really good, and loved how you got to piece things together and learn what had happened.

A great read, and a book I think many will enjoy.

It deserves so much more than 5*

Picture
Well Well, where the hell do I start with this.

Firstly a super Huge thank you to Harper Collins. I was so thrilled when I was asked if I would be interested in receiving an early copy of this book. My hands were actually shaking as I responded to the message.
It was an honour to be asked and a bigger honour to read this book early.
I was also thrilled, to the point of shaking and laughing, (If I'd been feeling a little better I would have had a dance round the living room) when I also won a signed copy of this book on Kimberley's live Facebook chat.
I was the first one to answer the question of naming Albie and Queenies kids.
A- Michael, Vinny, Roy and Brenda.  My god I was Buzzing...

By god, Kimberley certainly knows how to write a book. Sometimes I think we should worry about what goes on in the minds of these authors.  This book is twisted.

 An Explosive Read

Picture

This book is so worth more than the 5 stars given. You just didn't know which way things were going, what was going to happen next. Who was safe. I so wanted to take my time reading it, I was determined to take it slowly, read a few pages at a time and not rush through it. I managed that in a way. I'd read a few pages, go get a drink read a few more.. and so on, It's not a book you can put down. It's not a book you can ignore once you start it.

I had so many questions and theories as to where Kimberley could have gone with this book, and slowly, slowly things started to happen, and questions were answered. I was going to re re read the previous books, lol. ( I have read them all twice anyway) But I didn't get around to it, but it doesn't take long to remember who is who and what went on between them as Kimberley manages to jog your memory of things as you are reading. It's very clever the way it's been put together to help you remember who is who, and what has happened previously, without it feeling like its just being repetitive.

It's one hell of a crazy arse read. There is so much going on in this book. Brilliantly written, and put together.

The Butlers and back, and in this book they are joined with the Mitchell family.
Vinny Butter and Eddie Mitchell, both men you wouldn't want to upset. Both men have seriously crazy families. But men you can't help but like. I really do like Eddie, and in a weird way I like Vinny.
Going into business together, it's not long before they start to receive mystery packages, these packages contain dead creatures. Someone somewhere is trying to send out a message, but who, and Why?
When you have such a shady past, all you can do is wonder and surmise.
Is going into business together going to prove to be the best move these two villains could have made, or the worst decision of their lives.

All the crazy bunch are back, Queenie, Little Vinny, Michael. Along with the rest of the family. Some have sorted their lives out and tried to do well for themselves. Yet others are just as mad as before and will never change. We have certainly seen some seriously colourful characters throughout this series of books. There are many characters, some of which you have probably forgotten about, but it doesn't take you to long to remember them.

I don't want to say to much about what does go on in this book, as it would spoil it for others, and certainly anyone who is not up to date with the series. Because I'm finding myself wanting to say, Oh my god and what about.... and then..... and to be honest that just wouldn't be fair on anyone who has not read the book yet.
But please if you are going to read this book do yourself one big favour and read all the others before it. If you can I would recommend you also read the Mitchell books, but that really is a personal choice it's not hugely necessary.

4/5

Firstly thank you so much to Bookouture for approving my request to read this book via Netgalley. And then thanks also to the wonderful Kim Nash who twisted my arm right up my back lol..... And gave me the chance of being part of this blog tour.

This book is certainly not my normal read. For anyone that knows me or the small few that follow my reviews, you will know I'm a BIG Crime fiction fan.
But funnily enough the day I requested this book, Mum and I had been chatting about family, and I have quite a bit of family living in Liverpool. I also fondly remember my mum used to read an awful lot of family saga books, so thought I'd have a complete change and give this a go.

I'm so glad I did. What a refreshing change to my usual crime read. The story is brilliant. Very well written. It flowed beautifully.
I was interested right from the first chapter. The scenes and characters are described so well that you could almost feel like you were there with them. It's a very easy to follow to book, and in no time you are dragged into the lives of the characters. Living their lives with them, going through the joys, the heartache, the grief. You become so consumed in their lives. A real trip back in time. It was interesting reading how things were back in the 1940s with the midwife turning up on her bicycle, the food rations. You sometimes just don't realise how much things have changed so much.
Once I started this book, I just couldn't wait for every chance I got to read it. But I made sure once I was well into the book that each time I sat down with a cuppa to read, I also got the tissue box by my side.
I just loved the character Dora and everything about her, her ups and her downs, her happiness and her heartache. I felt so much for her throughout the book. I really feel like I have been on a journey with Dora, like I really got to know her. I found myself wanting to help her. I loved how the story was told, as things were so different back then.
The book ended well, but ended with you wanting more, almost like you wish the follow on was available now because you would have gone right on to read it. To find out how things turn out.

This is book 1, and you know what I am most certainly looking forward to the next book. Who knows maybe I might just have to read a few other books out of my usual comfort zone.

In Nothing But Trouble, a gripping crime thriller by bestselling crime author Kerry Wilkinson, DI Jessica Daniel has to protect the streets of Manchester from escaped prisoners - and those trying to hunt them down.
Niall O'Brien is a veteran living on the edge of a run-down estate, refusing to sell his house to developers. He's the only remaining resident, alone and frightened by a series of break-ins. He's been threatening to shoot the next intruder but he can't be serious . . . what if the next person through the door is a police officer trying to help?
Elsewhere, on a bright Manchester morning a vehicle screeches across a junction and wipes out a prison van. Two prisoners run for it, leaving the police to track them down.
They don't have long to wait. Hours later, one of the escapees is hanged from a motorway bridge. Was he broken out solely to be killed, or is there something deeper going on?
Meanwhile, someone's conning pensioners out of their savings and there are rumours that the bare-knuckle British middleweight title fight is coming to the city. DI Jessica Daniel fears finding herself in the middle of an all-out war, not knowing that the biggest threat might come from a frightened pensioner.

Super Huge thank you to the Author, Publishers and Netgalley for an ARC of this book which I have read and chosen to review.

4.5/5

Well well, Book 11. And I have read and loved everyone of them. Jessica Daniel has become one of my favorite female fictional detectives.
You just can't help but enjoy these books. You could probably get away with reading it as a stand alone, but if you are anything like me, then you need to read them right from book 1, it really helps with the background of the characters, and you feel more for them as their life progresses. So if you haven't read any of these books, then may I suggest this is the series you get stuck into this year.
I also love how all Kerry's books are set in and around Manchester. I always enjoy a book when I know some of the places that are mentioned. I feel it add's to the visions I have while reading.

So Jessica is back, and as usual nothing is ever just simple for her. She is having to deal with a prison van that has been hijacked and the prisoners freed, where are they, who has done it and the big question is why?
Along with this Jessica learns of a neighbour who has been conned out of some of his saving, and soon finds out that others locally have suffered the same. Another case for Jessica to investigate.

Jessica really seems to get involved in everything that is thrown her way, she is a brilliant and believeable character. I also enjoy the banter as well as the serious side of her and her work colleagues.
I really can't wait for more from this series.
And I have to say, another book that ends with you wanting the next one NOW.

Kerry Wilkinson has been busy since turning thirty.

His first Jessica Daniel novel, Locked In, is a number one ebook bestseller, while the series as a whole has sold more than a million copies.

He has written a fantasy-adventure trilogy for young adults, a second crime series featuring private investigator Andrew Hunter, plus the standalone thriller, Down Among The Dead Men.

Originally from the county of Somerset, Kerry has spent far too long living in the north of England, picking up words like 'barm' and 'ginnel'.

When he's short of ideas, he rides his bike or bakes cakes. When he's not, he writes it all down.

Upcoming and recent UK releases:
Nothing But Trouble (Jessica Daniel): 7 February 2017
Ten Birthdays (standalone): May 2017
The Death And Life Of Eleanor Parker (standalone): Autumn 2017
