A perfect divorce. A new flame. And a deadly obsession.
Nadine and Jake Saunders were married as teens. Tied to one another by a night of passion that resulted in a pregnancy neither could turn away from.
Now, years later, their children have all flown the nest and the pact they made as teenagers – to give one another the freedom to pursue their own dreams – has resurfaced.
But freedom comes at a price …
While Nadine and Jake begin to untangle their lives from one another, Jake embarks on a passionate affair with a beautiful woman, Karin Moylan. What he doesn’t know is the dark history Karin shares with Nadine.
As lust spirals into dangerous obsession, Jake must break free from Karin. But he must also ask himself how well he ever really knew Nadine. What secret is she hiding? The truth, when it is revealed, could destroy them all.
i have been trying to play catch up recently with my huge TBR, and getting through some great books that I wish I had read earlier.
When I like a book, I think everyone else should get to know about it. (well the 3 people that will read this review, lol) So here it is, I hope the 3 of you enjoy it.
The Betrayal, the first book I have read by this author, I love discovering new authors. I didn't know what to expect from this book, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. As I said this book has been on my TBR for a while, and having another book by this author to read, i'm trying to, when I read a book, read any other books I have by the same author. So lucky me gets to read Guilty after this one.
I actually hadn't realised just how many books this author has written, #wherehasmyheadbeen
The Prodigal Sister (2009)
Stolen Child (2010)
Fragile Lies (2015)
The Betrayal (2015)
Sleep Sister (2016)
A great and interesting read, you find yourself wondering what is going to happen.
Suffering empty nest syndrome it seems, Nadine and Jake Saunders were married young, now their children all grown up and gone their own ways. it's maybe time for these two to live their lives.
Some amazing twists and turns in this book, it certainly keeps you entertained. It makes you think sometimes, it's maybe never to late to make changes.
Secrets should really be that. 'secrets'
Interesting page turner will keep you on your toes. I'm looking forward to reading more from this author.
