Fans of Martina Cole, Kimberley Chambers and Jacqui Rose will love this gripping new book from bestselling crime author Emma Tallon.
There’s a new girl in town and she has a score to settle. Scarlet Drew isn’t to be messed with. As the daughter of a notorious London gangster, she’s got enough street smarts to take on the world. When someone close to Scarlet is murdered in cold blood on the East End streets where she grew up, her family’s honour is at stake and she can only think of one thing – revenge. Joining her aunt Lily at the head of the family business, Scarlet soon realises that the murder is just one part of a plot by a rival firm to take down the entire Drew empire, and she fears that her aunt could be their next target. As everything they built begins to crumble, the Drew family find their livelihood and their reputations under pressure. Then, Scarlet’s estranged cousin Ruby suddenly comes back into the family, with a revelation that could tear the Drews apart. But can she be trusted? As Scarlet makes some tough decisions, one thing is for sure: family means everything to her and she will stop at nothing to protect it, even if it means putting her own life at risk. Strong women, family dramas and nail-biting tension make Her Revenge a book not to be missed!
What readers are saying about Emma Tallon:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ‘What a fantastic, gripping read… You will find yourself addicted to reading this… Exceptional.’ Goodreads reviewer ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ‘369 pages of pure gold adorned with diamonds! My heart stopped a few times. My heart broke a few times.’ B for Book Review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ ‘My goodness, I COULDN’T PUT THIS DOWN!... My heart was beating so fast my Fitbit thought I’d been for a run… These books should come with an addiction warning.’ I Love Reading blog Meet Scarlet Drew. Your next favourite character. Loyalty, love, deception the Drew Underworld has it all. No secret. I am a huge fan of this authors work. When I realised Emma Tallon was starting a new series I was a little apprehensive as her Tyler family series of books is one of my favourite. I always wonder if the author is doing the right thing and if they can ever match the success they have had with another series. Well, it's safe to say Emma has smashed this one. What a fantastic start to a new series. Meet the Drew family. Ronan and Lily Drew, Brother and sister and part of the Drew Empire. Ronan is Married to Cath and their daughter Scarlet is about to set off to fulfil her dreams at university. Her mother Cath is so please and proud of her, but also pleased she is not joining the family firm. Scarlet in Cath's eyes has so much more to offer and a life made by going to university. When tragedy hits the family, Scarlet has big decisions to make, It soon becomes clear which path she is going to follow. A first class start to a new series, Characters that I can see will grow and grow, I'm all ready liking Scarlet and look forward to what more is in store. As with all books on gangland London there are good and Evil and I can't wait to see how some of these characters develop. I loved how there was a slight glimpse into the previous series with some of the characters mentioned in this book, I can see an overlap of the two families working really well in the future. When family is everything you may change your path in life. I can highly recommend this book, its gripping, thrilling and totally worthy of your full attention. Emma Tallon has an amazing ability to write books with a knock out punch, that ability shows in this start to this new series. I can't do the book enough justice while giving my thoughts, it needs all the stars and more. Just simply first class writing.

‘I read this book in one night and all I have is 3 words. Oh my god.’ ☆☆☆☆☆ Reader Review
Even perfect mothers have secrets… Leah. She’s the perfect mum to ten-year-old Samuel, wife to loving husband Thomas, head of the PTA. But her closet is full of skeletons - and if the truth gets out, her world could be destroyed. Annie. She’s the gangster’s moll with a brain. She might be a woman, but she’s not afraid to get her hands dirty to play the men at their own game. But what no one knows is the devastating secret haunting her. Terry. He’s the king of Glasgow gangland, working his way up from estate to mansion. From drugs to guns, there’s nothing he won’t stop at to grow his dirty money. He might be a hard man, but his weakness is women. As their three stories collide, the lives of each will never be the same. Because even perfect women hide dark secrets… Don’t they?
I really don't know what can be said about this book without giving anything away. What a superbly written, gripping read this turned out to be.
Where do these authors get their ideas. First class. This isn't your typical gangland thriller, this is a gangland thriller with a twist. Annie walks into the life of Terry, a hard man, a well known face in and around Glasgow, Terry has his hands in many pies. Terry pretty much falls for Annie right from the start to the contempt of his driver Richie. He is very much against this new relationship. Is he feeling a little left out or is it just because he's just ended one relationship suddenly. Leah is married to Thomas and mother to Samuel. Her 10 year old son is her world. She will do anything for him, but Leah is keeping a secret and her perfect little world is about to come crashing down around her. When worlds collide things can only go very wrong. Addictive read. Alex Kane is certainly making a name for herself in the Gangland Crime book world. Certainly an author to follow. If you haven't read any of her books I can thoroughly recommend them. Well worth reading. This was certainly a book I struggled to put down, another one that as you get nearer then end you want to stop reading just so you can make it last a little longer, but you are too far into this read that it's impossible to slow down or put it down. |
