What if the person you love most in the world was in terrible danger … because of you?

Three years ago, Toni’s five-year-old daughter Evie disappeared after leaving school. The police have never been able to find her. There were no witnesses, no CCTV, no trace.

But Toni believes her daughter is alive. And as she begins to silently piece together her memories, the full story of the past begins to reveal itself, and a devastating truth.

Toni’s mind is trapped in a world of silence, her only chance to save herself is to manage the impossible. She must find a way to make herself heard. She must find her daughter.

4/5

I recently read Safe With Me by K.L. Slater, and really enjoyed it. So I was excited when I got approved to read an early copy of this book via Netgalley. And I couldn't wait to start it.
Another great book. Very well written and well put together. And I have to say all the way through I just kept wondering which way the story could go. I have to say though that I did not expect the ending we had. In fact I'm not sure what I expected if I'm honest lol.  Once you have read it and you sit back and think about the story I think the clues were there, you just don't realise until afterwards.
It is very Cleverley put together.

A mothers worst nightmare, her child going missing, add into that guilt and blaming yourself because if you hadn't been late would Evie not have gone missing. The guilt makes Toni's live a living hell. And if she wasn't coping to well with her husbands death, what is this going to do to her.

Toni and her daughter have moved to a new town, a new start after the death of her husband. It's just what they need isn't it. Toni finds herself a job and Evie has a place at the local school. Things can only get better for them, Cant they? Toni also has the help of her mother as her and Evie have moved closer to her. But is her mother just a little overbearing, is her mother not helping with things.

Brilliantly written and very well put together. This story will have you guessing what is going to happen next, and you'll probably get it wrong.
There is enough going on to keep you interested, keep you wanting to turn the pages, but not to much that you can't follow it.
The story flips between the present day and three years earlier, I found this really good, and loved how you got to piece things together and learn what had happened.

A great read, and a book I think many will enjoy.

Thirteen years ago someone did something very bad to Anna. Now it’s her turn to get even …

Anna lives a solitary existence, taking solace in order and routine. Her only friend is the lonely old lady next door. She doesn’t like to let people to get too close – she knows how much damage they can do.

Then one ordinary day Anna witnesses a devastating road accident and recognises the driver as Carla, the woman who ruined her life all those years ago. Now it’s Anna’s chance to set things straight but her revenge needs to be executed carefully …

First she needs to get to know Liam, the man injured in the accident. She needs to follow the police investigation. She needs to watch Carla from the shadows…

But as Anna’s obsession with Carla escalates, her own secrets start to unravel. Is Carla really dangerous or does Anna need to worry about someone far closer to home?

This is a debut novel? You have got to be kidding me right!
Grippingly Twisty.

Well Well Well, I really do not know where the hell to start with this. So firstly Thank you to Netgalley, Bookouture and K.L. Slater for allowing me an ARC of this book.
Freakin Awesome it is. I finished this book yesterday but long after finishing I kept thinking about it, and thinking what I would do, what I could have done. It really managed to get in my head this one. I think it's because all the way through you have questions you want answering. But these questions are only answered bit by bit as the story progresses.

The book kicks off with Anna witnessing and accident.
Anna is a pretty quite person who likes to keep herself to herself. (A bit like me) Get's on with her job and doesn't really socialise with others. I guess you could say she's a bit of a loner.
It was 13 years ago when something happened in Anna's life that changed everything for her, and everything about her.
She pop's in when she can on the old lady next door, Ivy. Who does seem to try and keep an eye on her having known her for many many years.
Ivy notices things are slowly changing for Anna and is concerned for her.

The accident Anna witnesses brings back many things probably best forgotten from her past.

Liam has been knocked off his bike by a lady who Anna seems to recognise right away. And Anna needs to find out more about this woman Carla, where and what she has been doing for the last 13 years. After all this is the woman who changed Anna's life forever and ruined it all for her.

Holding Liam's hand after the accident Anna realises that the one way of getting to know What Carla has been doing is by becoming Liam's friend... Cue the madness...

It doesn't take long for this to become one serious obsession, one that can only end badly but for who?

What I feel I really need to say about this book is that you need to start it on a day when you have nothing else to do, because believe me you will not want to put this down once you start it. An exceptional story for a debut, that's for sure. And I really do look forward to reading more in the future from this author.

Kim is a full-time writer and lives in Nottingham with her husband, Mac. Between them they have three grown-up kids; Kim's daughter, Francesca, and Mac's sons, Nathan and Jake.
