The boss is back!
Book 2 in this amazing series. It was great reading this book, I read and loved the first book The Boss. So I was really eagre to see where this book would go.
A brilliant Gangland crime read that will be up the charts in no time, Caz Finlay deserves her recognition as being one of the best, writers of Gritty Gang land crime.
These books are going to do well and I can't wait to follow the characters on their journeys.
From the first page to the very last, I wanted and needed to read, I wanted to know what was happening, this book had mad me gripped.
Grace Sumner is back, and boy is she needed. It doesn't take much to get her back in to the Liverpool Underworld. Her son had been running things, its pretty clear he's not really up to it and it's now down to Grace to get things back on track.
Grace has also been keeping a big secret and Its not long before this secret comes out, but will she be forgiven.
I know this author has another book out. I think it's August 2020 and I really can't wait for it.
DescriptionIt had seemed so simple. Get in, get the information, get out. But now they were getting inside her mind and she didn’t know how to stop them…

An unbelievably gripping crime thriller from multi-million copy bestseller Angela Marsons that will have you hooked on the Detective Kim Stone series.
Book 12.. Still going strong, still interesting, still unputdownable. The End
What can I say, we seem to waste our lives away waiting for new books to come out. This one was well worth waiting for, a fantastic addition to the series. There has been no better place for me to be the last few days than in the world of Kim Stone. So a big thank you to the very talented writer, Angela Marsons for taking me away from the troubles of the world for a short while.
I would say you could read this instalment as a standalone, but with all books that are part of a series, it's always better to read the books in order. You learn and grow with the characters this way, you know any back history.
I have found in the past that some series when they are so good start to go a little bland the more books are published, we sometimes see story lines becoming the same etc. Not with these books, I find each and everyone fresh, topical and current. This series shines better each time a new book is published.
Kim Stone has become a favourite with many crime thriller readers and it's no surprise. She's a first class character and one who you just keep learning about.
The team have a new case to work on, what appears to be a suicide is quickly dismissed. Kim and Keats had first agreed that this was suicide, but something is nagging at Kim, and Kim likes to trust her instincts. Maybe just maybe is wasn't suicide.
There is soon another body found and it doesn't take to long for a link between this and the suicide victim to be discovered. These tow victims had spent time at a local farm and this has to be where some of clues can be found. the team are sure that this farm holds a lot of answers for them.
These books grab you as soon as you start reading, and don't spit you out until that last page. they are almost like a drug, as you find yourself craving for more, very addictive.

A book following the life changes of one of the girls, a great read that really had me grating my teeth together. A real page turner, hooked from the very first page until the very end.
Well done to this author this series has been brilliant.
When everything changes, you have to come out fighting.
It’s been three years since Anna Davis’s boyfriend Freddie Tyler was sent to prison, now he’s back on the streets of London and about to find out that everything has changed.
As Freddie enters his West End club for the first time in years, he finds ex-girlfriend Anna Davis sitting behind his desk, confidently leading his team of men. Anna used to hate the world he lived in, but she has now become a big part of it. And she’s not about to give up running the family business easily.
Anna shows a toughness Freddie has never witnessed in her before when she tells him about her new enterprise, smuggling stolen diamonds through London’s Hatton Garden. And alarm bells start ringing when Freddie meets Anna’s new partner. Cold and ruthless, Roman Gains isn’t someone Freddie trusts around the club and particularly not around Anna.
Whilst tensions flare between Anna and Freddie, a new Russian firm enters their world, determined to bring the Tylers down. And when they take out one of his best men, Freddie has to take drastic action to wrestle control from Anna. But she has other ideas. And when Roman becomes Anna’s closest ally, Freddie finally reaches breaking point. Could this be the fall of the Tyler empire and the last time Freddie and Anna are on the same side?
Current, fresh addictive reading. This author knows what her readers want and delivers every time. Each and every single book has gotten better. I didn't think it was possible but it was.
Things have changed in the world for Freddie and Anna, Freddie has been inside and Anna has been in charge of his empire.
Can Anna just step aside and walk away from all her hard work? No she wants in on the business full time. Freddie soon realises just how much Anna has changed and he's put her in this world.
Someone is out to cause trouble and it's going to be survival of the fittest to get through.
I'm loving how the Characters had grown and been built around. How their worlds have changed so much since the first book.
The stories always take over you, written so well you are unable to put the books down. Emma Tallon is an exceptional writer and I can't wait to see what is in store in future books.

Discover an addictive new crime series, perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Bryndza and Lisa Regan.
Don't judge a book by it's cover. Isn't that what they say. Well I do, I know I shouldn't but heyho….. This cover when I saw it really reminded me of a book I've previously read and I loved that book, so decided I needed to also read this one.
It's a great read, interesting and will keep your attention while reading. This is a new author for me and as always I really enjoy finding out what is on offer.
Detective Hanlon is addicted to violence. She likes the rush, the danger, the losing control...
Fancy that a cop with issues, a cop who likes violence, well I was a little suprised as Detective Hanlon is introduced to us, just how much she does like violence.
Hanlon has been suspended from duty on the force for her violent behaviour. So having no work to attend then the best thing is to get away. Somewhere nice and quiet to relax, where she can't get into trouble.
NO, thats not on the cards either. She does get away, somewhere nice, somewhere that sounds very nice, a small island in Scotland. It soon becomes clear that trouble follows Hanlon about because obviously she doesn't go looking for it...
There really are a number of odd characters through this book, but it was fun getting to know some of them. Hanlong becomes involved in the case of a girl who has been found dead, she can't help herself but get involved in the investigation. There is so much more going on in this book, I really don't want to be giving anything away, but it's worth a read, it's a very easy read at less that 300 pages it didn't seem to take long. I read this over a couple of days.
The plot is interesting, you are kept guessing at the who and why, it would be a great read for any armchair detective.
Megan has to climb round and step across the body to get a proper view. What’s left is like a chalk white mask in the rough shape of a face. The innocence is still there, and a hint of the cheekiness. But perhaps she is imagining that.
Detective Megan Thomas moved to Devon for a fresh start, after years spent undercover. She’s staying with her sister and swimming in the sea daily, battling the tides and letting the waves wash her past away. But she can’t outrun everything.
On her first day back, she’s called to a murder. The body lies deep in an underground bunker, and when Megan forces herself to look, it triggers a panic attack. As her heart races and her breathing stalls, she realises she’s not sure if she can go back to life in a regular crime unit. Her memories are too powerful to be buried – maybe too powerful to let her do her job.
But when another body is found on the stretch of beach where she swims every day, Megan remembers why she joined the force, and what she’s fighting for. The victim came to the police for help, and Megan knows they failed her. She won’t rest until she gets answers. But how can she find justice for others, when she’s no longer sure of herself?
A completely gripping new series from bestselling author Susan Wilkins, introducing the tough and determined Detective Megan Thomas. For fans of Ann Cleeves, LJ Ross and Mari Hannah, this will keep you hooked from the first page to the last.
Having read other books by this author in her Kaz Phelps series I was looking forward to seeing what would be offered in this book, the first one to feature Detective Megan Thomas.
I love starting a new series and starting from the very beginning is best. I like to get know the characters early on. I enjoy being able to learn about the character and seeing them grow.
The main character is Megan Thomas. After working undercover Megan now lives with her sister and getting back into life that isn't undercover. Working for the Major Crime team in Devon a new case is thrown at Megan. It soon becomes clear that Megan has issues she needs to work through and has a panic attack at the scene. Megan needs to learn to control this and get herself back to the person she was, even if it is going to be so difficult.
I think I'm going to like Megan as a character, I think she's going to have so much to offer and I believe this could be a pretty damn good series.
I am looking forward to what is offered in future books.
The Sunday Times bestseller and Richard & Judy Book Club author of Sleep returns with her most gripping book yet.
Ursula, Gareth and Alice have never met before.
Ursula thinks she killed the love of her life.
Gareth’s been receiving strange postcards.
And Alice is being stalked.
None of them are used to relying on others – but when the three strangers’ lives unexpectedly collide, there’s only one thing for it: they have to stick together. Otherwise, one of them will die.
Three strangers, two secrets, one terrifying evening.
The million-copy bestseller returns with a gripping new novel that will keep you guessing until the end.
It feels like ages since I've sat and read a hard back book, when this bad boy landed at my door I was thrilled and couldn't wait to get started.
Mug of tea, foot stool and away I went. I have read some of this authors other books and always enjoyed them, so I was really looking forward to this. This turned out to be a mighty fine read.
The lives of three very different characters come together in this nail biting read. Ursula, Gareth and Alice all individuals, all different characters whose lives you can follow. Mainly focused around the shopping centre where Alice is a Shop Manager, Gareth works for the security team and Ursula is lets say a delivery driver. Three very different people who will all need to come together to save themselves.
This book is full of twists and turns a real page turner and at this moment in time a real good distraction from the realties of life.
I love how the book unfolded the way we got to know how things were or had happened, its written brilliantly and will grab you in from the early pages. If there is one thing I could criticise about this book is 'I don't know how to review it without giving to much away'
So what I'm going to say is, it's now Easter weekend 2020, the country is in lock down. Get yourself comfortable, get your feet up and treat yourself to this book. you will not be disappointed. This will take you to a world of fiction far away from your today world.
Thank you to the author for writing a book I needed to read. For me books are the best medicine in the world, and this would be a great read for anyone who enjoys a gripping read, open the pages and let that great big fishing hook reel you in.

Oh my days... All the god damn stars for this book. 5 big fat Thrilling stars *****
What a superb series of books this is, I really have to admit now that I really was concerned over the ending of the previous book and what It could mean for our main character. I know I shouldn't have been worried because as usual CW has come back with an even better book and another fantastic story line. I sometimes think we need to worry about what goes on in the heads of these writers, where do idea's come from? Absoflippinglutley Brilliant to read.
I'm not going to mention the big happenings in the previous book as I would hate to spoil it for anyone who is yet to read it, but if you are going to treat yourself to these books, then you need to really treat yourself and read them in order.
It makes for a much better reading experience.
What a start we had to this book, A young girl is attacked with Acid being thrown in her face, how dreadful that must have been for her, the agony it would cause. It killed her almost immediately.
Who could commit a brutal evil attack of this nature.
It's down to Natalie Ward and her team to investigate. Natalie is called back to work after being off for a few months following on from her last case and her own personal demons.
Is Natalie in the right frame of mind to head this case, or is her personal life and drama's going to stop her doing her job? The only way to find out is by reading books.
The book takes some amazing turns with lots of things thrown in that you really were not expecting. When Natalie is forced to question someone she knows regarding the murder, can she keep her cool and investigate as things seem to becoming nearer to home for her and a little more personal.
This is book 6 in this series, a series I have to say was a surprise at as I was loving Carols other series of books with Detective Robyn Carter.
I wasn't sure at first how I felt with a whole new series, but my goodness it's turned out good. Its one of the best series of books I've read and the author certainly isn't scared of taking characters out of their comfort zone and making tough decisions. Again, a first class read as part of a first class series.
Carol Wyer garnered a loyal following as an author of romantic comedies, and won The People’s Book Prize Award for non-fiction (2015). In 2017 she
stepped from comedy to the “dark side” and embarked on a series of thrillers, featuring the popular DI Robyn Carter, which earned her recognition as a crime writer.
The Staffordshire-based writer now has more crime novels in the pipeline, although she can still sometimes be found performing her stand-up comedy routine

The serial killer is behind bars. But the murders are just beginning…
DC Maggie Jamieson’s past comes back to haunt her in this dark and gripping serial killer thriller.
Three missing women running out of time…
They were abducted years ago. Notorious serial killer Bill Raven admitted to killing them and was sentenced to life.
The case was closed – at least DC Maggie Jamieson thought it was…
But now one of them has been found, dismembered and dumped in a bin bag in town.
Forensics reveal that she died just two days ago, when Raven was behind bars, so Maggie has a second killer to find.
Because even if the other missing women are still alive, one thing’s for certain: they don’t have long left to live…
I was thrilled what I was given the chance to be part of the blog tour for this book. I read Noelle's first book, Dead Inside and absolutely loved it, a fantastic read from start to finish, this means I was sooooo excited to read this the 2nd book in this series.
I love how the first book was Lucy's story where this book is more Maggie's story. That said I would read these books in order.
Considering this is only the authors second book it's written like it's been done by a life long author, Noelle being a reader, blogger and now Author really knows what is needed to grab the reader in, keep hold and spit them out at the end exhaused and needing more.
DC Maggie Jamieson really does have her work cut out for this case. When serial killer Bill Raven comes back into her life it's unsure if Maggie can actually handle this one. Bill Raven is in prison after being found guilty of the murders of three women, these murders he actually confessed to. But when the body of one of these women turns up it's clear that he couldn't have killed her as he said he did as she'd only just been recently killed and Bill Raven was inside. Maggie really has her work cut out and at times doubts herself. But she is certain she has the correct killer behind bars. 'isn't she'
Maggie can't comprehend the possibility that she has the wrong person locked up, but if he didn't do the crime why did he confess.
A brilliant story line that you can really get into, this book makes you need to keep reading, I couldn't wait to actually find out what had gone wrong, what had happened and more so what had Maggie done. The excitement builds the more you read, it's exciting and breath taking, at times I had to stop and tell myself to breathe.
I can not wait to see what is in store for us in book 3, wow, wow, wow. Noelle has set the barr high with this one, can she smash book 3, can't flipping wait.

Natasha Mayston wasn’t expecting anyone to knock on her door so late at night. And she has no idea that the face staring back at her is the last one she’ll ever see…
As Detective Dan Lockhart is called to a wealthy London street to investigate Natasha’s death, he’s startled by the similarity to a previous case. Noticing the cable-tie restraints and the tiny scratches on Natasha’s wedding finger, Dan already knows what he will find if he looks in her mouth – the metal ball which choked her to death. He knows Natasha isn’t the killer’s first victim and is certain that he will strike again.
Months earlier, Kim Hardy was found in the same position in a run-down hotel across the city – an identical silver ball in her throat. But Kim’s murderer was caught and sent to prison – did they arrest the wrong man? And what connects the two victims? Fearing that he’s dealing with a psychopathic serial killer, Dan calls in psychologist Dr Lexi Green to help him to get into the perpetrator’s mind. Tough and smart, Lexi will stop at nothing to hunt down the man responsible for the deaths.
Then, another body is discovered, just as Lexi finds a clue online leading to the killer. Dan’s team aren’t convinced, but in pushing Lexi away from the investigation, they force her to dig further into the case on her own. Convinced that she’s on to something, she puts herself in unthinkable danger… but can Dan piece together the clues and identify the killer before it’s too late?
Fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Cara Hunter will love this thrilling new series from Chris Merritt. From an explosive start to a heart-stopping finale, you will not want to put this book down!
I was thrilled when I saw this book. I have read some of this authors other work and got a little giddy when I noticed this was the start of a new series. I feel this introduction to Detective Dan Lockhart and Dr Green was brilliant. I love getting to know new characters. These are 2 characters I can really see building through futer books. I think they have a lot to offer us readers and I cant wait to see what Chris Merritt decideds for them.
I found that i needed to keep reading that I wanted to know the who, why etc. A few times I thought I had the answers, but clearly I didn't which was a great way of putting those twists in there, making you feel you know what s coming. You don't so you then have to continue.
It was interesting getting to know our new characters as I said, Dan Lockhart is a married man, but his wife went missing and he hasn't seen her since. This is always at the back of his mind when he's going about his work and everyday life, it will be interesting to see how that part of the story develops, i'm just hoping it's not something that is going to go on forever like another crime authors books.
I do feel this was certainly a well written book with a story to keep you hooked, and I really do look forward to what will come in future books.
Now is the time to treat yourself and order this book, start a new series and enjoy your reading.
