‘An absolute masterpiece’ ANGELA MARSONSThe gripping new novel from million-copy bestseller, Mel Sherratt.
‘I love all Mel Sherratt’s books’ IAN RANKIN ‘Twists and turns and delivers a satisfying shot of tension’ RACHEL ABBOTT The truth can be a dangerous thing… When a young boy falls from a balcony in a block of flats, DS Grace Allendale witnesses the shocking aftermath of the tragic event. But strangely, no one will admit to seeing anything – and the parents will only tell the police that it was an accident. Determined to sort the truth from the lies, Grace is thrown into a case that takes her to the darkest corners of the criminal world – and strikes closer to home than she could have ever imagined… A gripping and pacey thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat from the moment you turn the first page. The perfect read for fans of Martina Cole.
When a young child is thrown from a balcony of the flats, DS Grace Allendale is sent to investigate. Life on most estates mean that the Police are not someone you talk to. No one will say if they saw anything and are saying it's an accident. It seems everyone feels this was no accident but they still wont talk.
Grace knows that people are telling lies, including the boys parents but she needs to figure out why and what actually happened. How can you keep quiet if someone has harmed your child. As always this was a thrilling read from a very talented author. I've found each book in this series somehow gets better each time. This is one of those books you really don't want to end. Yet you can't stop reading which means the end comes around all to soon. Although I think if these books were thousands of pages I'd still think they were to short. I've never yet felt let down by one of Mel's books and this one is as good as all her others. A great addition to a brilliant series. I loved everything about this book and highly recommend.

She’s everything he dreamed of. Isn’t she?
Ben can’t believe his luck when the beautiful Bella walks into his life, just when he needs her most. Still bruised and vulnerable since breaking-up with long-term girlfriend, Charlotte, he falls head over heels in love. But Bella isn’t quite the ideal partner that Ben believes her to be. She quickly decides that everything is better when it is just the two of them – making it harder for friend and family to stay in touch. And then a sudden death triggers a chain of events that throws Ben headlong into a nightmare… Secrets, lies, vengeance, and betrayal are at the heart of this story about a family that is destroyed when their son brings home the perfect girl…
Well, well, well. What a read this was. To be honest, I really don't know what I was expecting from this book. Something about it just shouted READ ME!
So as I always do at the voices in my head tell me. A fantastic plot and a twist I didn't see coming. This book left me thinking about it long after I'd finished it. This is a phycological thriller that will have you hooked. There was many times I was shouting at or about characters as I was reading, (in my head) But they were at times winding me up and I had to tell them. lol When Ben splits with his girlfriend, the wonderful, beautiful Bella steps right into his life. Just the right time? A coincidence? or something more. Can life with just the two of them be as perfect as Bella is making out. As I said, this book stayed in my mind long after i'd finished it. It was brilliantly written. I would certainly want to read more books by this author. This book covers not just physical domestic abuce but the mental abuse also and it's done brilliantly. This book is filled with secrets and shows how dangerous secrets can be. #ThePerfectMother #NetGalleyAs always Caroline Mitchell has written another book that once you start, you can't stop. I love Carolines books, I don't think I haven't enjoyed one at all. This is certainly another page turner. This is one of those books though that I find really difficult to review as it was so good. It's a great and unusual story line. One that drags you through the pages wanting and needing more. Roz has found out she is pregnant. But how on earth can she bring up this child, she can't let the father know and she can't tell her best friend everything. Roz decides that the best way forward is to have the baby given up for adoption. This really was an addictive read. Roz is not only penniless but has also discovered she's skint and pregnant. Believing she has no options she sets about trying to find parents that could have her child, someone who could love, care and bring up her child. Roz believes that the best thing for her unborn child is for it to be brought up by someone else. Someone who is struggling to conceive and will love and make a superb parent, someone who can give her child everything it wants, needs and deserves. What unfolds though the story will certainly open your eyes, you will want to carry on reading and get lost in those pages. When Roz thinks she has found a perfect couple she heads off on what she thinks is going to be an adventure of a lifetime to New York. What happens next really will blow your mind. I don't intend on giving anything away, I don't like spoilers but this book was just fantastic and I really can't recommend it enough. I'm loving this
Another brilliant read from this very talented author. I don't think I've read a book that I haven't enjoyed by M.R This one is just great, its the second book to feature Private Investigator Beverley Saunders and her odd side kick, Doc. I loved the first book and this one is just as good. A serious story to follow that is filled with some great humour. Another brilliant read from this very talented author. I don't think I've read a book that I haven't enjoyed by M.R This one is just great, its the second book to feature Private Investigator Beverley Saunders and her odd side kick, Doc.. A serious story to follow but I love the humour that is slotted in here and there. I especially loved Bev when she became Gail, she was a great character to read about. The relation ship between Bev and Doc is done brilliantly. the put downs and come backs between them are priceless. I chuckled so much while reading this. Yet it covers some serious topics, and some of the crap that is blighting Manchester at the moment, 'Spice' A crazy drug that see's people hooked pretty much as soon as they start it. it's an evil drug and I think covering subjects that are very topical in the news etc is brilliantly done. I loved how many of the places mentioned in this book that I actually knew, that i'd been to, places i'd visited and places up the road from where I live. i'm loving this authors work and can't recommed this enough. Treat yourself, get your feet up and Enjoy.
WHO DO YOU TRUST IN A WORLD BUILT ON LIES...
Rebecca Dawson lives a life that many women want - married to wealthy, handsome businessman Jamie and new mum to beautiful daughter, Ella, she thinks nothing can burst her bubble. Until a series of sinister events leaves Rebecca convinced that she is being stalked. While her only priority is keeping Ella safe, Rebecca knows that this might be more than coincidence, and fears that her past is back to haunt her. Because somebody knows what she did. They are watching her, tormenting her and soon they are going to make her pay. While she hides her past, Rebecca finds herself unable to trust anyone, not even her husband, Jamie. Because Jamie is keeping secrets too. Is Jamie gas-lighting Rebecca into thinking she is going mad, in a bid to cover up his own sordid lies? Or is someone more sinister seeking their revenge? A mind-blowing psychological thriller that totally caught me off guard! ~ Crimebookjunkie Book Reviews So the queen of gangland has taken a step into the world of psychological thrillers and has shown that she can smash it in both genres. The twists thrilled and excited me in equal measure, making this one dark and mess with your head read. A psychological thriller that delivered on all scores for me. ~ Bytheletterbookreviews A story that has me on the edge of my seat and holding my breath. ~ Cheekypee Reads and Reviews The plot is tight. It keeps your brain ticking and at one stage I thought I’d sorted it all out. Jobs a good ‘un.....I thought. No, no, I was definitely wrong. ~ Read Along With Sue
This is Casey Kelleher's first Phycological thriller and what a thrilling read it is.
I didn't even read what this book was about, I knew i liked the authors work and that was all i needed to know. I found this an easy but addictive read, this book took me away from my realities of the moment and lost me between the pages. This book is a fantastic, fasinating twisty twister of a read. Rebecca and James seem like the most beautiful perfect couple. Married with a baby daughter 'Ella. The couple have it all. Being a new mummy seems to be playing havok with Rebecca's mind, her mental health seems to be suffering and it's clearly more that baby brain. Rebecca knows she needs to keep baby Ella safe, she is convinced someone is watchin her. But who, she has no idea. Rebecca knows she has a past that needs forgetting about but these odd events really can't be linked to her past in anyway. This book leaves you second guessing what is going to happen. It has you thinking you know just where it's going. You will be wrong, I was. Clear your diary, put your feet up as once you start this book you will not want to put it down. I'm not sure what more I can say other than WOW, WOW, WOW. What a brilliant start to the New Year for this author and this book, I cannot wait to see what Casey has to offer next. A mighty fine story teller.
All’s fair in love and war… but what happens when the war is over?
After the heartbreak of World War Two, newlywed midwife Cathy hoped Liverpool life would offer some joy. But a terrible miscarriage and the escape of her abusive stepfather Jack from prison make happiness hard to find. Meanwhile, Cathy’s beloved granny is ailing. Whilst at the hospital, Cathy sees her midwifery friends, who are planning to open a home for unmarried mothers. After losing a baby of her own Cathy would love to help, but for now, she must take care of her grandmother. As her granny’s health worsens, she writes Cathy a letter. The day her grandmother dies, Cathy goes home and opens the envelope: Thank you for giving me a reason to live. Everything I have in the world is yours now, my darling. Cathy is devastated but determined to honour her granny’s memory, hoping the maternity home can be her legacy. Just as Cathy and her friends are about to open their doors to the first expectant mothers, Jack is spotted in Liverpool. It’s only a matter of time until her cruel stepfather catches up with her, determined to pay her back for getting him locked up in prison. Can Cathy keep herself and her grandmother’s legacy safe, and see Jack sent away for good at last? The Midwives of Lark Lane is a heart-wrenching saga about how the best friendships can help you through the worst of times. If you’re a fan of Nadine Dorries, Diney Costeloe and Kitty Neale, you’ll love Pam Howes! Now this is a book series I love. Everything about these books is just fantastic. The writing, the story lines, the characters, each time I've read one of these books I have loved every single page. I could happily read this series every day forever. Selfishly the author seems to think that she should have a life outside of books. lol only joking. I felt like I was going back in time and meeting up with old friends with this book, the familiar characters and their family lives. For me I think the only character I don't much like is Jack. I don't think we are supposed to like him, which is what means for me, that Pam has done the job she intended. I wont go into detail as I wouldn't like to spoil this for anyone who hasn't read the previous books,( can I ask why you haven't read them) I would say you could read these books in any order, but why would you want to do that? it's worth reading them in the correct order to follow the back story of the characters, although the author does give you enough background if you didn't want to read them all. Cathy and Gianni are now travelling with his family. Cathy isn't very keen on this and would rather have permanent roots. A home not a caravan. Cathy and her daughter end up returning to Liverpool as circumstances change. I found myself rooting for this family, I wanted and needed them to do well. It still fascinates me as we go back in time with this series, how very very different things were back then. The fact that a home is needed for young unmarried ladies who found themselves pregnant. How times have change and and perceptions on certain things are so different. This is a family saga you do not want to miss. This book is available via Kindle unlimited for free if you are a member, if not you can try out their free trial. The Blossom Twins #BlogTour
Their parents thought they were hiding…
One beautiful summer’s evening, thirteen-year-old twins Ivy and Erin Westmore snuggle down in a tent in their back garden, giggling and sharing secrets. When their mother goes to wake the girls the next morning, their tent is empty. The alarm is raised and Detective Natalie Ward is put onto the case. When the twins’ bodies are discovered on nearby marshland, covered with deep pink petals, an icy shiver travels down Natalie’s spine. Everything about the girls’ deaths reminds her of a horrifying case she worked on earlier in her career, which saw a killer of the worst kind placed behind bars. The next day, that feeling is heightened when she receives a chilling note saying ‘I’m back’. Is this killer a copycat or did Natalie put the wrong person in prison all those years ago? In a small town, where no stranger goes unnoticed, what is Natalie missing? Consumed by the case, determined to prevent more deaths, Natalie misses the fact that it is her attention the killer wants. And to get it, he has his sights set firmly on her precious daughter Leigh… Gripping, fast-paced and nail-bitingly tense, this book will keep you flying through the pages long into the night. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott and Karin Slaughter.
