Chrissy fears she is losing her boyfriend, Kyle, so she formulates a plan to try to get their relationship back on track. However, events drastically backfire when a car chase puts both their lives in danger. A Romantic Suspense Novella 20,000 words. Well I don't know what happened with this book, I actually thought i'd read it. Yet it's just turned up at the top of my list on my Kindle and when I started it, I knew I hadn't previously read it.
It's a great easy and quick read, a great story line. Chrissy feels she is losing her boyfriend Kyle, she feels Kyle is going off her, she plans to win Kyles affections back. But at what cost. I can't believe I've only just read this book. Playing catch up is fun though.

Unfair Justice is a Justice series short story of 10,000 words which involves all the original characters.
In the early hours of the morning, the murdered body of a teenager, Maria Collins, in discovered close to a railway track. With very few clues to go on, can DI Lorne Simpkins and her team uncover who the murderer is before he claims yet another victim?
A great easy read. A Justice novella that will keep any Justice fan going for a little longer.
I find it great when this author brings out a short story to keep her growing reading fans going. And it certainly does that. Don't think that because it's a short story it takes anything away from it being a brilliant read, because believe me, it doesn't! We also go way back in time with Lorne working with Pete, so if you are not up to date with the series, then don't worry this won't spoil anything for you. Lorne and Pete are investigating the murder of a teenage girl. And for fear of giving anything away I'm going to stop with the story there. What I will say though is it is a great addition to this growing series, and well worth reading. Looking forward to more.
The third novel in the DI Sally Parker thriller series from NY Times and USA Today bestselling author M A Comley
Other reads available in this series are: Wrong Place - #1 Women Sleuths No Hiding Place - #1 Women Sleuths Web of Deceit - a novella co-written by Tara Lyons DI Sally Parker also helps solve a mystery alongside DI Lorne Warner in Twisted Justice. DI Sally Parker has been handed a ten-year-old cold case. However, the victim, Aisha Thomas, isn't just a member of the public--she's a serving police officer's wife. During the original investigation, the suspects disappeared before they could be questioned. Now fresh evidence has been uncovered, proving the two suspects to be innocent. Sally has to start over at the beginning. She uncovers a few surprises that were either overlooked. . . or purposefully ignored by the original investigator. When the case threatens Sally's fledgling romantic relationship with pathologist Simon Bracknall, she begins to suspect someone is determined to hinder her chance at happiness--as well as solving Aisha's murder. Is Sally getting close to revealing the killer or has she stumbled across something even more sinister?
I have to start with the fact that it really does amaze me at the speed in which Mel can get books out, without any of them feeling rushed or falling below the quality we have come to know and love.
I am a HUGE M A Comley fan. I have read almost all her books over a number of years, and each time a new one is due out, I still get excited about reading it. Here we are again, another outing with DI Sally Parker. I feel like i'm still getting to know Sally, but after reading this book I have added Sally now to my list of fictional characters that I really do like. In this book Sally has really grown on me, and I really can't wait to read more about her and see just what happens with her in future books. As the title suggests, Sally and her team are given a Cold Case to review. A case that is ten years old, so where on earth do you start. Well it seems, you start right back at the beginning. Ten years ago the wife of a police officer was murdered. The case soon takes on a big turn around when it is discovered that the two suspects in the original case maybe had nothing to do with it. Have mistakes been made, is it bad policing or is just that with new DNA evidence coming to light that it puts things into a different light. I can safely say that throughout the book I had no idea of who the killer could have been, and It certainly took me by surprise when I found out who it was. I think this was brilliantly done, I loved that I had no idea at all. It took me a little while to get the chance to pick this up and read it, and once I did I read it in no time, there was no chance of me putting it down once started. As with all Mel's books. I got lost in the pages and devoured it. I have no hesitations in giving this book the 5 stars it so deserves, and I really can't wait for another outing with Sally Parker.

It is no secret at all that I am a huge fan of this amazing author. Her writing is first class, I just can't help but wonder how the hell Mel keeps coming up with these stories and Idea's and each one just gets better and better.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and flew through it in no time. Wanting and needing to keep reading, this book will certainly hold your attention and keep you up all night until you finish it. Hero Nelson book 3, I'm really liking Hero, I have to say sometimes when I love an authors series and they do another on, I do sometimes wonder if I will like it as much, but this one has certainly confirmed it's possible to write more than one series of books. I always enjoy books when they are based in and around Manchester, I love it when I can actually see in my mind the places that are featured. I always find it adds to making the books feel more real. This book starts off with a bang, literally. A killer is out there, and he needs catching, he needs catching real quick. He has killed 2 serving police officers when Hero is set the task of finding the killer, its a race against time before the body count starts to build. Can Hero and his team work miracles, because they are going to have to, to catch this evil killer. It's personal for Hero, not only is one of the men killed a serving officer, he's also part of Hero's TA team. But when the Killer takes a hostage then Hero and his team really need to up their game. A fantastic read, and any fans of crime will love this one.

A killer, an abductor, and a villain intent on revenge - just a normal week in the life of DI Lorne Warner.
When a wealthy woman is found murdered in a country lane, close to her home, it's up to Lorne to find the evidence to track down the rural killer. When another resident in the same vicinity is abducted, the evidence points Lorne to believe both cases are connected. However, Lorne's focus on the puzzling case is in jeopardy, when a criminal awaiting trial threatens her career in the force. Can Lorne restore the tranquility in the once sleepy community? And will she still be a serving police officer in the Met by the end of the investigation?
Oh my Book 14 in this awesome series. What can I say. Firstly thanks to Mel for an ARC of this book. I was thrilled to receive it, and knew I could get stuck into it right away. It's certainly helped with my Lorne fix.
This is certainly one of my all time favourite series, I have read these books right from the beginning, and it does help with getting a good feel for the characters and their history. I really do feel like I have been on a journey with Lorne. What a brilliant strong character she is. I still enjoy the books now as much as I did when I first started the series. This time around Lorne is working a case where a wealthy Lady has been murdered. while out walking her dog. Lorne and her team as usual throw themselves into it. It's not long before another lady is abducted. Could these two be linked. Alongside this Lorne is under investigation herself, after a complaint by someone she has put away in the past. Can Lorne function with this hanging over her head? The story is very well written it draws you in right from the beginning. I wanted to read this book in one sitting, but I managed to stop myself and made it last me, well, 2 sittings. I just couldn't help myself as usual. Once you start one of these books, it's difficult not to just carry on. If you have not tried any of this series as yet, the Why Not? But you can get the first book for £0.00 - yeah Nada, zilch, it's a freebie for Kindle. A perfect way to try a new series. Keep going Mel, I love this series and I'm ready now for the next one. It's down to Lorne and her team to stop these thieves. The only way to get these thieves it to join them. And Lorne very kindle volunteers Pete to go undercover. A perfect role for Pete. It was great traveling back in time, to the early Justice. This is the perfect addition to the series. Anyone who has read any of my other reviews, will know that I'm a huge Justice fan. And loved having this one to read. It really helped with my Justice fix. To see more of my reviews on books by M. A. Comely click here
The stakes are high when a holiday turns tragic... When Louise Gillespie regains consciousness after a traffic accident, she learns that her husband and four-year-old daughter are missing. Her frantic search to find them is encumbered by her own brain trauma and the local sergeant in charge of investigation, who thinks she's crazy. Her luck finally changes when she bumps into PIs Ellen Brazil and Brian Lynx. Despite being on holiday themselves, they take on Louise's case. It's not long before Ellen and Brian discover the truth behind the family's sinister disappearance. Firstly I'd like to say a huge super big THANK YOU, to Mel. Who sent me an ARC of this book. You never fail and I'm grateful for every chance I get to read one of your books. So here we are book 3 in the Intention series, another cracking series from this amazingly talented author. Just to help refresh my mind, as sometimes when you read so many books, you tend to forget little bits of each, so I did a re read of books one and two before this, and I have to say I enjoyed them just as much the second time around as I did the first time. You can click the images below to take you to my original reviews of each book. Wowzerz.. what another great book from this very talented author. The list of books by Mel seems to be growing all the time, which for a reader like me is a bloody good thing. In this book we meet Louise Gillespi, she is off on a holiday with her husband and young daughter. A family holiday by the seaside n Cornwall. Only this getaway turns out to be no holiday for Louise. Her and her family are involved in a terrible car accident on their way there. Waking up from the accident Louise seems to have concussion, and is told her husband and child were not in the car with her at the time of the accident. But how can that be she is sure they were all together. What's more she also discovers that she was driving and not wearing a seatbelt. Very confused and not knowing what to do next, Louise has the very good fortune of ending up chatting to Ellen Brazil and her partner Brian Lynx, who are on holiday with Brian's daughter Cally. Louise soon starts to tell Ellen what has happened to her and can't believe her luck when it emerges that Ellen and Brian are Private investigators. It now looks like although on holiday, they have a new case to work, they just can't help themselves. So the big question that needs answering is Where are Louise's family? Be warned the way this book is written once you start it, it is very difficult to put it down. You want the answers to the questions you have, and the only way to get them is to continue reading. I am a huge MC fan and have read almost all of her books, I'm also a huge fan of The Justice series that she writes, but I have to say this series is slowly creeping up alongside it in my favourites. Mel I can't help thinking you are making it hard for yourself to keep on topping each book you write, but somehow you keep doing it. Keep going girl. Looking forward to the next one.

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author M A Comley presents the Justice series. Bonus: Includes the first chapter of IMPEDING JUSTICE. Well it's no secret. The Justice series is one of my all time favourite series of books. I just love Lorne, she's ace. lol. It was a little weird reading this one, as it's set right back in the beginning, so we see characters that are no longer featured in the later books. I don't mean weird in an odd way, I just had to keep reminding myself of a few things that had happened (I'm not spoiling it for you) This is a great Easy and quick read, you'll fly through it in no time. Her friend helps her decide what to do, but is she making the right decision. And does she have real reason to be as scared as she is. The first gripping book in The Organised Crime Team series by NY Times bestselling author of the Justice series, M A Comley and co-author Tara Lyons, author of In The Shadows. When The Caller rings... what would you do? The Organised Crime Team is a newly-formed unit with one of the toughest tasks in London. Led by DI Angie North, their first investigation is a cold case that has foxed several officers in the Met for months. After Angie holds a TV appeal regarding the case, a number of similar aggressive attacks are brought to her attention. The team call on their contacts on the street for help. Their interest is sparked when several local names surface. To bring the criminals to justice a member of the Organised Crime Team is asked to risk their life in a dangerous covert operation. 5/5 Firstly I would like to say a huge thank you to Mel and Tara for sending me an ARC of this book. I bloody loved it. And I am so looking forward to reading more from this crime writing duo. Well this is the start of a new series, and I have to say it's a series I am really looking forward to. And all ready eagerly awaiting the next instalment. I was really excited about this book coming out. Mel and Tara seem to make a pretty damn good writing duo. I have read books by both of these authors previously and really enjoyed them, and I read this one in just 2 sittings. Once I started it I just knew I was going to enjoy it, and was soon hooked and drawn right into the story. It must be difficult for authors when starting a new series, to try to make it unique and fresh, and Mel and Tara have certainly done that with this book. A newly formed crime team in London is headed by DI Angie North. A character that I think will now just grow from book to book. She's determined and gutsy. And not scared to get stuck in. Taking on an old cold case, it doesn't take the team too long to get stuck in, and as a new team, we start to learn about them as well as the story. I think it's been brilliantly put together. A book to get stuck into and stick with right until the last page. Be warned, once you start this you won't want to do anything else but read, read and read. Then as you get towards the end, you won't want it to finish. I Am honoured to be part of this amazing blog tour. DI Sally Parker is called to one of the best hotels in the area after one of the guests, Megan Carmen, reports her friend, Tina, missing.
Sally investigates Megan’s background when the woman reveals that she has just arrived from France and Tina is a woman she met on the Internet. Do genuine people truly arrange to innocently meet people they’ve only just met online? Or, in light of Tina’s disappearance, is there something far more sinister afoot? 5/5 Mel and Tara have written this Novella together. It is a very quick and easy read, but it is interesting too. A lot of short stories you don't get the chance to know of feel what is going on, but with this one it was easy to follow and understand what was happening. I feel the underlying question when reading this book is just how much can you trust those friends you have made on line, Maybe Mel is trying to tell us something here. lol. Be careful if you decide to meet up with her when she returns from France. (she may not be all she seems so be). Megan and Tina in this book have Mel and Tara written all over them. so much to the point that's the images I had in my head while reading this book. It was a great easy read and didn't take me long to devour. I really am looking forward to these two doing more together, it could make some interesting reading in the future. |
