Book Info I Know a Secret(Rizzoli & Isles 12)by Tess Gerritsen Random House UK, Transworld Publishers Bantam Press General Fiction (Adult) , Mystery & Thrillers Pub Date 10 Aug 2017
I can't believe this is book 12, It feels like forever ago since I last read a Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles book.
It was great getting to meet up with them again, like being back with old friends. I have followed this series of book right from the beginning and thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them. This one was no exception. Detective Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles are faced with a pretty gruesome crime scene. It's going to be a toughie but with these two on the case it shouldn't be to much of a problem. However the cause of death of the woman found isn't as clear cut as they would like. It seems there could be links to a crime that was committed many years ago. The problem is, people have kept secrets for a very long time, and some are not willing to give up their secrets just yet. A brilliant yet gruesome read, will have you hooked from early on. Any Rizzoli and Isles fan will love this latest addition to the series. I certainly enjoyed it.
Biography
Best selling author Tess Gerritsen is also a physician, and she brings to her novels her first-hand knowledge of emergency and autopsy rooms. But her interests span far more than medical topics. As an anthropology student at Stanford University, she catalogued centuries-old human remains, and she continues to travel the world driven by her fascination with ancient cultures and bizarre natural phenomena. She started off her writing career with romance novels, now published by Mira. But in 1996 she switched to writing thrillers with her novel HARVEST, inspired by the anger she felt about the illegal trade in human organs. It was her first New York Times bestseller. Since then she has become an internationally bestselling author of crime novels, and her thriller series starring Boston detective Jane Rizzoli and medical examiner Maura Isles is the basis for the hit television series "Rizzoli & isles." She lives with her husband in Maine. For more information on Tess Gerritsen and her novels, visit her website: www.tessgerritsen.co.uk.

5/5 Detective Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles are back. I just can not believe this is book 11. And I have to admit I have loved everyone of them. This has been a fantastic series of books. Tess Gerritsen really does know how to write a bloody good story. WE leave Boston this time and head out to Africa. The book starts off with a group on safari in Africa, when one of the group is killed, and the rest of the group should really get the hell out of there, but they can't. They have no means of communication and there truck wont start. Mean while back in Boston Rizzoli and Isles are trying to solve the murder of taxidermist Leon Gott.He had been sent a rare snow leopard that he was supposed to be preserving. Is there a link to a disappearance a few years ago. We go between Boston and Afric in this book, and its fantasticly written on how it all comes together. I really got the feel reading this book on how dangerous being on Safari really could be, I think Gerritsen has done a fantastic job with the details, which really make you feel like you could actually be there. And many holding your breath moments, a few times i had to stop reading to get my head together and tell myself i wasn't actually there. Any book that can make you feel like you are there is obviously very well written. The story is written in a way that you just want to keep on reading. And thats exactly what I did. I was very lucky to get an early copy of this to read. And as this is one of those authors where it doesn't matter what they write you know you will buy it anyway, I was thrilled to get the early copy. If you are a fan of Gerritsen's books, and have read the other 10 in this series, I really do think you will enjoy this. If you have not read any of her other books, then stop reading this now and go and treat yourself. You will not regret it. Check out some of the other books by this author. |
