Twisted Justice: A combined investigation. DI Lorne Warner and DI Sally Parker Justice series book 13. When the local pathologist asks DI Lorne Warner and DS Katy Foster to attend the scene of an accidental explosion, it's not long before the capable detectives find that the victim was murdered aboard his boat before the "accident" occurred. Delving into the victim's past leads Lorne across the county border into Norfolk, where she calls upon her good friend DI Sally Parker to assist in the investigation. What the joint team reveals about the victim's extended family blows them away. Can Lorne and Sally find the crucial evidence in time to prevent the notorious family from carrying out their own twisted justice to sustain their wealth? 5/5 Wow. I cannot believe we are at book 13 in this series. This has become one of my must read the next book series. I have loved and enjoyed each and everyone of these books. It's now got to be like visiting an old friend, I look forward and enjoy Lorne's company when she comes to visit me via the latest book. I have enjoyed so much learning about and watching Lorne and her family grow and change. I believe each and every book just gets better and better each time. I am again feeling honoured that the wonderful author of this book, allowed me an early release copy. So I got to read it before it becomes on sale, But don't worry, it's out tomorrow (31.12.15) so you don't have to wait for it, as I hung on to my review until it was time for publication. Well this time it's Murder at sea. And Lorne is thrown into the case and working it with old friend Di Sally Parker, (those familiar with Mel's books will know that Di Sally Parker is the main character in one of Mel's other series) they are dealing with some real nasty characters this time. And I mean REAL NASTY. Working as a team these two are going to be a force to reckon with. And I think it would be brilliant if they could work other cases together. The victim is found on his boat, where the culprit has tried their best to cover it up and make it look like an accident rather than murder. What Lorne needs to find out is who has done it any why. I loved how the team worked together and how they found clues and managed to piece each bit together. This is another very well written and put together book. As I said each one just get's better and better. And once again Mel has delivered just what her fan's want. A bloody good read. Title - No Hiding Place Author - M A Comley Format - ebook Source - Review copy via author. 5/5 Book 2 in the DI Sally Parker thrillers I was so made up when I received a review copy of this book, so a huge thank you thank you thank you to Mel. I have over the years come to love Mel's book and her writing style. And i'm always eagre to get stuck in when I get one of her books. So as usual once I got this, my other book was put to one side so I could get stuck in. And as usual, Mel hasn't let her readers down. another brilliantly written story to get your teeth into. After the body of a woman is found Sally, is investigating what has happened and has a number of possible people it could be. But then it starts to prove very difficult to bring the case to a conclusion, not enough evidence and doubt around who the killer is, leaves this case unsolved for almost 6 months, that is until a second woman is murdered and all things start to change. Sally has to figure out if there are any links and what they could be. Who could be responsible for killing these two women. What sort of person is capable of doing that. I have to admit, I had figured out early on who the killer was, and occasionally thought I may have gotten it wrong. As this is the second book in this series, i am also enjoying getting to know the characters a little more. I would say you could read this as a stand alone book, but If you are anything like me, and enjoy getting to know the characters as much as reading the story, then I would read the first book before starting this. I am sooooo soooo ready for Mel's next book now...

My Thoughts.
Well let me start by telling you, just in case you didn't all ready know. I love this series. I have enjoyed everyone of these books. And Loved following Lorne on her journey so far. I was lucky enough to get an ARC copy of this book from Mel. And couldn't wait to get into it, My Lorne fix. Lorne is faced with a difficult task this time around of finding a kidnapper. The difference is she know's who this kidnapper is, or at least his name. But who is her really, and who he is linked to. It can't be, who she feels it is, Can it? Whoever it is, why is he doing it and what is it he want's. This time around its become personal for Lorne. And left to go it alone, on a mad chase around London, Time could end up being her enemy, will her strength shine through. Has she taken on too much with her new promotion, and who can she count on when the going get's tough. Another Amazing read in this series, a series for me that just seems to get better and better with each book, I had the added interest while reading this, as I was playing tourist around London, and had been reading this on the train, I'm pretty glad I didn't bump into Lorne though as she wouldn't have had time to speak to me, while I told her what she needed to do. Luckily she can think for herself. lol. But It was good being able to see places that i'd just read about in the book. As i've said before this series just get's better and better, and I can't wait for the next one. This is one of those series that one day I am going to read from the beginning all over again. Book one in this series if you have not started it, is currently free on Amazon. click the image below for more books in this series. DS Lorne Warner and DI Katy Foster are called to the scene of an electrician's suspected suicide but quickly discover that they're dealing with a murder case instead. Katy's family emergency forces her back home to be by her parent's side in Manchester, leaving Lorne as detective inspector, working alongside a new, and frustrating, partner. When two more murders of tradesmen occur, the investigation throws suspicion on a couple who have recently renovated their home. However, the forensic team uncovers a lot more than anyone bargained for. 5/5 Wow. i can't believe we are at book 11. i have read the previous 10 books and enjoyed everyone of them. It's not so long since I read book 10, and Mel seem's to be flying along writing these. So i was made up when Mel sent me an early copy of it. My Lorne fix is fed for now. This has been one of those series that, one day I know I will start again at book one. So book 11. I have to say is one of the best yet, and if you have enjoyed the rest of the series. You are in for a treat with this one. I am now trying to not give too much away when writing my reviews, so Just buy the god damn book and read it. lol..... The book could I guess be read as a stand alone, but if you are anything like me and know that this is part of a series, then You will want to start at book one.. Which can I add is currently free on Kindle. click here. This is one of those books, especially for a Justice fan, that you will just fly through once started, as you NEED and WANT to know what is happening. So briefly so I don't give to much away, we start off with a Murder, with a couple more to follow. Lorne and Katy are on the case, as as ever they set off in super duo style. although their rolls have changed over time, these two still work well together. But soon, Katy has to dart off for a family emergency and Lorne becomes in charge of the case (just like old times) I like Lorne better in her current position, as we get to see more of her home life and not just her all work and stress... I love how the Family has been built over time. And I'd love to see her daughter move to follow in her mothers footsteps. Oh god i'm stopping here, or i'm going to end up blurting all the story out and spoiling it for you, and we wouldn't want that would we. Anyway Yet ANOTHER 5 star book written by Mel. No pressure Mel, but i'm ready for the next one.. lol.. Mel's facebook author page Follow Mel on twitter Impeding Justice facebook page More books are available in this series.
5/5
After two detectives are suspended, the Met is forced to return to all the cases the partners investigated. The cold case of a missing university student, Noelle Chesterfield lands on DS Lorne Warner's desk. Because Noelle was working her way through school as a pole dancer, Lorne and her partner DI Katy Foster find themselves with plenty of suspects on their radar. However, when the leads run dry, they call in the services of an unusual ally to find the missing student and give her devastated family some peace. Wow We are at book 10 all ready. I really feel like I've been on a journey with Lorne through her justice books. If you have not read any of this series, personally I would suggest you start right at book 1. And follow the characters through the journey they have been on so far. As this book is a little different from the others, in the sense that I feel the Psychic plays a bigger roll in helping with finding details about the crime, I feel if you know her involvement in other cases (previous books). I think you would understand her a little more. Lorne and Kate are given a cold case. where Noelle a young dancer has gone missing. It soon becomes apparent that the 2 officers who were first dealing with the case, didn't do a very good job. Lorne and Kate are trying to get information and a closure to what happened for Noelle's parents. Carol the psychic plays a big part in helping with this case. I feel she probably worked a lot harder on this case than Kate and Lorne did. Tony has carried on with Lornes PI business, re starting it with his partner Joe into their new business, I liked that Tony is slowly getting on with his own side of things. Charlie is still running the Kennels with help from Carol. A well written and well put together story. This is not the first justice book I have needed a box of tissues for.
The tenth thriller in the bestselling Justice series by New York Times and USA Today author M. A. Comley
The Justice books in order are; Cruel Justice #1 in Police Procedurals and 1# Women Sleuths. FREE Impeding Justice #1 in Police Procedurals Final justice #1 Action and Adventure Foul Justice #1 Hard-Boiled Mysteries Guaranteed Justice #1 Women Sleuths Ultimate Justice - #2 Women Sleuths Virtual Justice - #1 Hard Boiled/#2 Psychological Thrillers Hostile Justice - #1 Police Procedural Tortured Justice Rough Justice - New release. As a HUGE fan of Mel Comley's books, I have read almost every book by this author. I couldn't wiat to get started on this, the newest series which features DI Miranda Carr and partner Sergeant Johnny Tomlin, along with chief Caroline Gordon. Anneka Morton has vanished from home and all that remains of her is a pool of blood in the bathroom. Her husband contacts the police. Where Miranda can not decide if she should have him as a suspect or not. He is certainly not liked by his in-laws, but Why? The investigation soon takes off and Miranda and Caroline end up going to Portugal to pursue the investigation. Was this the right thing to do, or have they just wasted valuable time in the investigation. As with all Mels books, this is another fantastic start to another series. Keep going Mel, and please never run out of idea's. If this book is going to be like any of Mel's others then we just know that the series is going to be fantastic. I think the characters are likeable and realistic, and soon found myself enjoying this book almost as much as some of the Lorne books. Evil In Disguise: Based on True eventsWow Another 5 star read by this fantastic Author. M A Comley has done it again. In this book, Mel has taken a different direction, and this one is based on a true story. As always the books are very gripping, to the point you really do get drawn in and I found myself many times talking to the book, sometimes shouting, and at other times trying to tell the character what she should and shouldn't be doing ..... I really felt like I knew the Character, Jenny is in an abusive marriage, and this book covers the subject very well. Jenny has been abused for many years by her husband Bill, yet no one, not even her children know about it. How will Jenny deal with things, when her children finally do find out. Will they actually believe her? after all he is their wonderful loving father. And for all these years they have had no idea about any of it. Jenny has done such a good job covering up her abuse is it possible to make people believe you when you do finally tell them. When Jenny finally get's to meet her pen pal of many years, along with another person who has been writing to her, things in her life start to change, and are people taking advantage of such a nice person, or is she just gullible and in a position in her life that it is easy for others to take advantage of her. Wow so much has happened and changed since book 1. This is one of those series that one day you know you just have to start all over again and re read them all. In Tortured Justice - Lorne is back and still working for the met, she's now been back 12 month. And is a Detective Sergeant , along with her partner Detective Inspector Katy Foster they have a new case to solve, A man has been found dead outside a local hospital. Before to long more bodies start to turn up, and we are soon thinking this is the same killer, and if it is Why. When reading the book, you know the who and why, but you need to know how Lorne and Katy are going to figure things out, can they piece things together and find out why these men are being murdered? Along side working for the met, Lorne is still interfering in the day to day running of her dog rescue center which is now run by Lorne's Husband Tony, a former MI6 officer, and Lorne's daughter Charlie. We also see a return of Carol, her character I just can't help but like. I also felt like I really knew some of the new characters and could really put faces to their names. Amazing. (anyone who is friends with Mel on Facebook, or follows any of her groups, will know what i mean) The story, like all other stories written by Mel Comley is just a fantastic enjoyable read. I can't believe how excited I get when I know the new book is out, and again, i am eagerly awaiting the next one... (No pressure, hey Mel) Mel's facebook author page Follow Mel on twitter Impeding Justice facebook page Past temptation I have enjoyed all M A Comleys crime thriller books and was looking forward to getting stuck in to this book A Romantic Suspense novella is something a little different for me, but was eager to give it a go. Nicole and Josh obviously had a relationship, at one time, and he turns back up in her life, when she's not expecting it. Nicole is alone in her Hairdressing shop, when and intruder tries to rob her, and threatens her and her daughters life. Nicole tries to struggle through, but with love in the background will she follow her head or her heart. And can Josh get back in her good books. I don't want to give to much away as this is a short story, It's better to read and discover it for yourself. This book is written brilliantly as expected from one of Mel's books. And I am now eager to read the next one in the series. Other novellas in the series: Lost Temptation due out June 2014 True Temptation due out July 2014 Just Temptation due out August 2014 End Result. Hero series book 2. Oh I was ready for this, book 2 in the Hero series starts off with a BOOOMM.. A murder then a birth. Hero is thrown right into it. A good mix of work life and home life. More than a little bit drunk Stuart Daws is murdered on his way home from the pub. Then Body number 2 is found, and the search steps up. Can Hero and his team find out who the killer is, or if these 2 deaths are even linked before any more bodies are found? With home life being hectic, and his partner Julie Shaw, not quite up to much after her bad news from home, Hero also has the help of part time partner Foxy- but between them will they be able to get to bottom of all that has happened and why and get the End Result they need? Written in the only way M A Comley can write---Brilliantly. As with all Mel's books (I've read them all-Almost, just got the romance ones to catch up on) I thoroughly enjoyed it. And it was only home life and work that stopped me from sitting in one spot and reading this until it was finished. Could quite happily have sat and read it in one sitting. But I needed it to last to stop me sulking while waiting for Mel's next book... |
