Description
Robert Bryndza is ready to take the world by bestselling storm again with the introduction of Kate Marshall, a woman with a dark secret and a powerful sense of justice. A DETECTIVE WHO WOULD STOP AT NOTHING Kate Marshall was a rising star in the London Metropolitan police force. Young, ambitious and with a keen sense of justice, she solved several high-profile murder cases. UNTIL A KILLER STOPPED HER IN HER TRACKS But when Kate was tasked with tracking down a vicious serial killer, even her sharp instincts couldn't help her find him - until he found her. NOW, HE'S BACK FOR MORE Sixteen years after her narrow escape, Kate lives a quiet life on the English coast, though her years with the police are still with her. And when one day she receives a letter from someone in her past, she is pulled back into the twisted mind of a murderer she knows only too well - and into a case only she can solve.
I really was looking forward to starting this book, but I was also apprehensive on if the author could deliver the same atmosphere and first class writing that I come to love in his Erika Foster series of books.
I really wasn't disappointed, an exception read and certainly a great start to what I believe will be another amazing series. Bryndza knows just how to get his readers engaged in a book, his writing style is second to none. I can not recommend all his books highly enough and if you want something great and amazing that will grab your attention from the opening pages then this book is for you. This book will be perfect over the next few months as it goes cold and dark earlier and earlier, to curl up with a cuppa, a blanked and have some you time.

Yet just as Erika begins to piece the clues together, she is forced to confront painful memories of her past. Erika must dig deep, stay focused and find the killer. Only this time, one of her own is in terrible danger… From the global million-copy bestselling author comes a totally heart-racing, hold-your-breath read that will keep you hooked until the very last page.
This along with another Bookouture author, is one of my most anticipated reads of the year.
I have so been looking forward to getting my grubby little hands on this bad boy. Praying for it to come out. Oh my days, book 6, how did that happen? I absolutely love this series. Robert Bryndza has not disappointed in any of his books. Each book grows and gets exceptionally better than the last. If you have any plans, forget them. Once this book is started it is so difficult to put it down. Easily his best book yet. I love the character that is Erika Foster, I would also recommend that for the best reading experience that these books are read in order. Erika is on her way to Christmas Dinner with her Boss and his family. A dinner she doesn't want to be going to, when she spots a police officer at a crime scene. It just so happens that Erika's help really is needed here after a woman's body has been found. It's clear this is a murder case, and instantly Erika gets to work. This book took more turns than me when i'm lost. What an amazingly written story. You suddenly start to think you know who had done something, then you find your wrong. This book really does have you guessing the whole way through. An amazing mixture of characters in this book. They complimented the story brilliantly. It's difficult to do a book like this justice when you're crap with words, but by god it was just brilliant. There is one thing clear on finishing this book. Robert Bryndza knows how to write, he knows what his readers want and he delivers, ten fold. Utterly Brilliant. What a ride! She fell in love with a killer, now she’s one too. The suitcase was badly rusted, and took Erika several attempts, but it yielded and sagged open as she unzipped it. Nothing could prepare her for what she would find inside… When a battered suitcase containing the dismembered body of a young man washes up on the shore of the river Thames, Detective Erika Foster is shocked. She’s worked on some terrifying cases but never seen anything like this before. As Erika and her team set to work, she makes the link with another victim – the body of a young woman dumped in an identical suitcase two weeks ago. Erika quickly realises she’s on the trail of a serial killer who’s already made their next move. Yet just as Erika starts to make headway with the investigation, she is the victim of a brutal attack. But nothing will stop Erika. As the body count rises, the twin daughters of her colleague Commander Marsh are abducted, and the stakes are higher than ever before. Can Erika save the lives of two innocent children before it’s too late? She’s running out of time and about to make a disturbing discovery…there’s more than one killer.
This book deserves way more than the given 5 stars.
What a brilliant read. Ill health allowed me to sit and read this and really get stuck into it. Never before have I been grateful for bed rest. This series of books is certainly way up there at the top of my must read series. Robert certainly knows how to entertain his readers, grabbing you in from the word go and you are not released until the very end. Erika Foster is a character I have really grown to like, yet I still feel with each book we are learning more about her, she's a very feisty character yet sometime I feel she's a little vulnerable, I wanted to get hold of her and one stage and give her a cuddle, then I wanted to get hold of her and give her a slap and explain that she's only human. I think if an author manages to get you feeling so much for a character then, they have certainly done their job well. This certainly is a bit of a bad case for Erika and her team, bad enough that a suitcase has turned up with a dismembered body in it, but when a second one turns up well the case gets that bit more difficult. It's a testing time for them all, and each and every member of the team will have their skills tested here. I really can not praise this book or this author enough, and i'm excited to see what else Robert can bring us. It's going to be tough matching or bettering this read that's for sure, but you know what? If any author can do it, then I really think Robert can. An outstanding read. I would recommend this series to anyone who loves a damn good crime thriller. This book has gone into my 2017 Must reads!
My personal opinion is that these books are best read in order. You will certainly get a better feel for the character, and I believe you would enjoy them a lot more.
This is certainly going in my 2017 'Must reads' list.

Last Breath: A gripping serial killer thriller that will have you hooked.
Detective Erika Foster Book 4. When the tortured body of a young woman is found in a dumpster, her eyes swollen shut and her clothes soaked with blood, Detective Erika Foster is one of the first at the crime scene. The trouble is, this time, it’s not her case. While she fights to secure her place on the investigation team, Erika can’t help but get involved and quickly finds a link to the unsolved murder of a woman four months earlier. Dumped in a similar location, both women have identical wounds – a fatal incision to their femoral artery. Stalking his victims online, the killer is preying on young pretty women using a fake identity. How will Erika catch a murderer who doesn’t seem to exist? Then another girl is abducted while waiting for a date. Erika and her team must get to her before she becomes another dead victim, and, come face to face with a terrifyingly sadistic individual. Gripping, tense and impossible to put down, Last Breath will have you on the edge of your seat, racing to the final dramatic page.
Robert Bryndza has become one of those authors for me that I don't even need to read the blurb for his book, as soon as I see his name, I want to read the book.
He certainly doesn't disappoint. Erika in this book starts off on the side lines of an investigation. And you know right away that she is certainly not happy that she isn't leading this investigation. But you also know she is going to do all she can to get an 'in' with the investigation, and is desperate to return to the murder investigation team. It's not to far into the book where Erika starts to find links. An evil serial killer is stalking his victims online, this in itself is scary. How many of your friends on Facebook do you actually really know. It does make you question things, as social media is one thing we all seem to use day in day out, this story line really does make you think. Erika Foster is one of my all time favourite Detectives, and I do have quite a lot of favourites. I love the way she works and everything about her. This book could be read as a stand alone, but for me if you are going to read a series of books, it's best if you can read them in order. I really am eagerly awaiting more books from this author. I think he should be locked in a room with nothing but his writing material and get books out to us even quicker than he does now. lol I'm sorry but I think authors like Robert shouldn't have a life outside of writing, it's unfair that we have to wait for more. But wait we will. An outstanding read. Loved it. All 4 books are available for less than £7.Product details

DARK WATER
Oh wowzerz.... Where do I start. Firstly I have previously read the first two books in this series. And thoroughly enjoyed them. I find the problem when the first few books in a series are so good, that sometimes the author struggles to cut the mustard as they say, with subsequent books.
Well RB certainly hasn't struggled to do that with this one, it's just as good, if not better than the others. There is an air of suspense throughout, a mystery between the pages that you need to keep turning. You want to piece all the pieces together, but the more this case goes on, the more is uncovered, and another thread is added to the story, which then throws your thoughts on what could or will happen next. Which again means you have to carry on reading. There are some odd/weird characters in this book and the descriptions of them can be a little creepy. Not in a bad way, I think it just helps add to the story. A disturbing theme, a historical case very topical and thoroughly interesting and enjoyable. It didn't take me to long to get through this book as I was seriously engrossed in the story. I'm not going to go on about the story line, as I think the synopsis tells enough of what you need to know. But OMG I really wasn't expecting the ending. Maybe my detective skills are not as good as I thought they were. But I'm really liking Detective Erica Foster. All I will say is this is one hell of a read and well worth getting stuck into. So all there is left to say is a big thank you to Netgalley, The Publishers, and Robert himself for allowing me the chance to read an ARC of this truly magnificent read. If the Night Stalker is watching, you’re already dead… In the dead of a swelteringly hot summer’s night, Detective Erika Foster is called to a murder scene. The victim, a doctor, is found suffocated in bed. His wrists are bound and his eyes bulging through a clear plastic bag tied tight over his head. A few days later, another victim is found dead, in exactly the same circumstances. As Erika and her team start digging deeper, they discover a calculated serial killer – stalking their victims before choosing the right moment to strike. The victims are all single men, with very private lives. Why are their pasts shrouded in secrecy? And what links them to the killer? As a heat wave descends upon London, Erika will do everything to stop the Night Stalker before the body count rises, even if it means risking her job. But the victims might not be the only ones being watched… Erika’s own life could be on the line. The global bestselling author of The Girl in the Ice is back with a heart-racing, electrifying thriller. If you love Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott and Peter James, you’ll be hooked on Robert Bryndza. Watch out for more from DCI Erika Foster. She’s fearless. Respected. Unstoppable. Detective Erika Foster will catch a killer, whatever it takes. 1. THE GIRL IN THE ICE 2. THE NIGHT STALKER A huge great big 5/5 from me Wowzers... another awesome read. I thought the Girl In the Ice was good, but this series of books is just getting better. I always worry when I have read the first book, if the second book can be anywhere near as good, but I didn't need to worry this is a 5* + read. Here we are back again with Detective Erika Foster, A lady who seems to have her own set of rules, and doesn't always do things by the book. This story is set in a heatwave, which seems appropriate to me at the minute as while writing this review i'm sat in the garden eating icecream, and melting. Erika and team are tasked to find a killer, and a horrible killer it is. It doesn't take long to realise we have a serial killer on the loose. But what have the victims got in common if anything. A Dr, an Author. Did the victims know each other? Something somewhere must link these victims. Or do we had a disturbed killer that is just killing random people. One or two creepy moments in this book, and i'm sure most people reading this, will check at least once that there is no one hidden under their bed. This book is certainly one of those books you get lost in, eager to read and find out what is going on, but then as you get towards the end, you don't want it to finish there is so much packed into the pages of this book it's breath taking, heart pounding stuff. I've enjoyed getting to know Erika more in this book and think this is going to turn into one hell of an amazing series of books. I just hope Robert can continue to produce books this good. Super big thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. It was freaking awesome. Her eyes are wide open. Her lips parted as if to speak. Her dead body frozen in the ice…She is not the only one.

What dark secrets is the girl in the ice hiding? As Erika inches closer to uncovering the truth, the killer is closing in on Erika. The last investigation Erika led went badly wrong… resulting in the death of her husband. With her career hanging by a thread, Erika must now battle her own personal demons as well as a killer more deadly than any she’s faced before. But will she get to him before he strikes again? A page-turning thriller packed with suspense. If you like Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott and Karin Slaughter, discover Rob Bryndza’s new series today – at a special launch price. Watch out for more from DCI Erika Foster. She’s fearless. Respected. Unstoppable. Detective Erika Foster will catch a killer, whatever it takes. 1. THE GIRL IN THE ICE 2. THE NIGHT STALKER COMING SOON My Thoughts. 5/5 One of those days when you have just finished a really good book and don't know what to start next. I had seen one or two posts on social media regarding this book, so I decided to give it a go. I'm so so glad that I did. What a brilliant read. With just enough twist to get you twisted, and a plot that is amazingly good. Right from the start you are pulled right into the pages of this book, and it doesn't let you go until the last page. This book has been out just over a week, and it all ready has over 100 5* reviews. It says it all really. Each of those stars is so well deserved. Andrea Douglas Brown - Young, beautiful, engaged to be married and from a very wealthy family she seems to have it all. Only now she has nothing as she's just been found dead. The thing is no one knows why she has been killed. So it is down to DCI Erika Foster to lead the investigation. Much to the disgust of other officers. She's a great, believable character. Strong and takes no nonsense but she also has flaws and certainly isn't a goody goody. I really did like her character. She is back after being on leave from when her last case went a bit Tits up. Thinking she was coming back to work on desk duties, she's in for a shock when she is put leading this murder investigation. And is faced with one or two obstacles along the way. I'm trying my best to say all I want to say about this book, but without giving to much away. It really is well worth reading. And once you start reading it you will not want it to stop. And when you get to the end you'll be gutted that it's finished. I don't know what mad Robert change and decide to write a crime novel, but by hell I'm glad he did. Bookouture seem to be finding some amazing authors recently that are turning out some fantastic books. I look forward to the next one. Thank you To the author. To Bookouture and Netgalley for my review copy of this book. Another new author added to my must read list. |
