DI Harry Evans - Book 2 “What would you do if your most intimate secrets got into the wrong hands?”Set in modern day Cumbria, I Know Your Secret is a police thriller in which a priest is found crucified to the stone floor of his church. Fearing more attacks on the clergy, DI John Campbell and his team of misfits race to find the killer before he strikes again. Meanwhile, DI Harry Evans, spends his days attending the trial of his wife’s rapist and his nights interfering in the investigation. Can they catch the killer before he strikes again? I am just loving this series of books. I'm loving Harry Evans. Ad that's it basically. Just go buy all the books in this series and enjoy them as much as I have. Ok OK you want to know a bit more..... Well firstly it's another 5 star read. And i'm honoured to be part of this blog tour. I would like to thank Graham and Caffeine Nights Publishing for an ARC of this book. I'd also like to thank Noelle over at CrimebookJunkie for offering me the chance to be part of this tour. Noelle has played a big part in the organisation of this blog tour, so i'd like to say Cheers for introducing me to Graham's books. Another series of books I've gotten into and love. Well we are back in Cumbria with Harry and crew. Harry has a lot on his mind at the moment, he has a big court case to attend, which is very personal to him. And he's nearing the end of his police career, which is something he doesn't want to happen. Taking over from Harry will be DI John Campbell. I like John and I think I could get used to him, but he's not Harry. lol. And for some reason that's what I keep thinking when I'm reading about him. This story is started with a dead priest, and by that I mean a dead murdered priest, not for the faint hearted this book, but it starts with a punch and ends with punch. It had me gripped from the start and I not only wanted to keep going, I needed to keep going. There are many twist in this story, as you think the book is going off in one direction, I found it slowly winding it's way into the last part of the story to, before you know it, everything is fitting into place and all the dot's become joined. I loved the way it was all put together and made one hell of an interesting story. Personally I would recommend you read the first book, as I feel it gives you more of an idea of what is going on, and the history of characters. You would probably get away with reading just this one, but as I say you would have a better understanding. And if you are going to read book one, Snatched From Home: then you may as well read The Major Crimes Team - Vol 1: Lines of Enquiry and Matching the Evidence: The Major Crimes Team - Vol 2 Both being short reads they help you get to know more of the characters individually rather than just as the team. And a also great reads so its win win. And a note from Noelle over at #CrimeBookJunkie

Fans of Martina Cole and Kimberley Chambers will lose themselves in this brilliantly tense and gripping story.
I was super thrilled to receive an ARC of this book. So a huge thank you to the Publishers, The Author and Netgalley for an ARC of this book.
And being a huge CK fan could not wait to read this latest work of art. As usual I wasn't disappointed. It Kicks off with Saskia having just lost her father, and trying to cope with grief is bad enough on it's own, but finding out your dad has gambled everything you have away is heart breaking. Vincent and Joshua Harper are not interested in any of that, they are owed money and that is all they want. It soon becomes clear that Saskia's life is never going to be her own, and she has to somehow pay all the money from her fathers gambling debts back, as these brothers are not going to be happy until they have it all. Saskia ends up agreeing to become lap dancer in the Harper brothers club, where she wants to raise money to pay them back and keep the home she has grown up with, the home that holds so many memories for her, her family home. We are also introduce to Lena Cona an immigrant from Albania, who after escaping from an abusive and sorry but a complete arse hole of a husband she finds herself in England homeless, and running and not sure who she can trust. When Saskia and Lena's worlds meet No one knows who can be trusted, and it soon becomes clear all is not as it seems. And you do not want the Harper brother against you. Lena relying on anyone who can help her and her tiny baby Roza soon end up in the hands of Colin #CreepyColin.. ahhh enough said about him. My skin crawls just thinking of him and what he is up to. Absolutely brilliantly written into the story and a pretty gruesome story line. It was amazing how all the parts of this book finally come together, woven together just brilliantly. At one point I could not see where it was all going and the surprise when it all slotted together was just brilliant. The mind of this author is just amazing. And I have to admit it was great being able to read a Casey Kelleher book again. God the woman can write. About the author: Born in Cuckfield, West Sussex, Casey Kelleher grew up as an avid reader and a huge fan of author Martina Cole. Whilst working as a beauty therapist and bringing up her three children together with her Husband, Casey penned her debut novel Rotten to the Core. Its success meant that she could give up her day job and concentrate on writing full time. www.caseykelleher.co.uk www.facebook.com/OfficialCaseyKelleher www.twitter.com/CaseyKelleher The first gripping book in The Organised Crime Team series by NY Times bestselling author of the Justice series, M A Comley and co-author Tara Lyons, author of In The Shadows. When The Caller rings... what would you do? The Organised Crime Team is a newly-formed unit with one of the toughest tasks in London. Led by DI Angie North, their first investigation is a cold case that has foxed several officers in the Met for months. After Angie holds a TV appeal regarding the case, a number of similar aggressive attacks are brought to her attention. The team call on their contacts on the street for help. Their interest is sparked when several local names surface. To bring the criminals to justice a member of the Organised Crime Team is asked to risk their life in a dangerous covert operation. 5/5 Firstly I would like to say a huge thank you to Mel and Tara for sending me an ARC of this book. I bloody loved it. And I am so looking forward to reading more from this crime writing duo. Well this is the start of a new series, and I have to say it's a series I am really looking forward to. And all ready eagerly awaiting the next instalment. I was really excited about this book coming out. Mel and Tara seem to make a pretty damn good writing duo. I have read books by both of these authors previously and really enjoyed them, and I read this one in just 2 sittings. Once I started it I just knew I was going to enjoy it, and was soon hooked and drawn right into the story. It must be difficult for authors when starting a new series, to try to make it unique and fresh, and Mel and Tara have certainly done that with this book. A newly formed crime team in London is headed by DI Angie North. A character that I think will now just grow from book to book. She's determined and gutsy. And not scared to get stuck in. Taking on an old cold case, it doesn't take the team too long to get stuck in, and as a new team, we start to learn about them as well as the story. I think it's been brilliantly put together. A book to get stuck into and stick with right until the last page. Be warned, once you start this you won't want to do anything else but read, read and read. Then as you get towards the end, you won't want it to finish. I Am honoured to be part of this amazing blog tour. |
