Love, Lies and Wedding Cake by Sue Watson @Bookouture @SueWatsonwriter ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #BlogTour #Review23/5/2018 Can I just start with, I was soooooo excited when I knew this book was coming out.
An absolutely hilarious, laugh-‘til-you-cry, romantic comedy about how life never quite goes to plan…
Faye Dobson is in crisis. You wouldn’t know it, because of the big fat smile on her face, but inside, she’s one step away from nuclear meltdown. And she shouldn’t be. Dan ?? is the man of her dreams. Her really quite energetic dreams, that frequently come true. Sometimes twice in one night. And he’s just asked her to marry him. But Faye’s been down the marriage road before and it ended up with her having Ryan Gosling fantasies while her ex-husband obsessed about the plumbing. The actual plumbing. Faye and Dan have been living their lives to the fullest, travelling around the world, having sex under the stars... They haven’t argued about unrolling socks before putting them in the laundry. Besides, even if she wanted to say yes, how could she move to the other side of the world? Because marrying Dan would mean living in Australia. Beautiful, warm and a gazillion miles from Faye’s daughter, Emma, a single mum with her own crazy little girl who both need Faye every single day. Leaving them – even for someone who makes her laugh as much as Dan – simply isn’t an option. Dan is offering Faye everything she ever wanted. So why does she feel like she’s about to lose it all? Love, Lies and Wedding Cake
OHHH my dayzzz, was I happy to get my mitts on this book. I need to start with, if you haven't read any of Sue Watsons books, then where the hell have you been.
Her books, are awesomely funny, with amazing storylines. Sue Watson has a knack of writing books that make you feel good, once you've read some of Sue's books you'd understand what I mean when I say, just looking at the covers makes you smile. Sitting down with these books, you feel like a big fluffy duvet has been wrapped around you. (oh wait it has) Hot Chocolate, a slice of cake, turn the phone off, lock the door. Once you start, there really is no stopping you. The books are adictive, easy to read, and fun. I have to admit you do get some funny looks if your out in public while reading these, with a stupid grin on your face, and laughing out loud. Anyway, back to this book. Love, Lies and Wedding Cake. The book has such a real life feel to it. You can actually picture yourself in the places described, doing the thing that the characters are doing, it really does feel like real life. It's certainly a welcome escape from my real life. lol I absolutely adored this book. There is a great mix of characters, some of them are first class. I loved Faye, I love the banter she had in the salon with Mandy and how her 4 year old grandaughter Rosie picked up on everything she shouldn't pick up on. Some of the scenes in this book had me helpless. Faye and Dan are in love, doing the things that make both of them happy. Living life to the full. That is until Dan pops the question. It's not that Faye is against marriage, it's more that with that marriage comes the reality that for it to happen, Faye would have to move to the other side of the world. Dan wants her to move to Australia with him. Faye can't do that, she has a course she's finishing, a job, a daughter and a granddaughter that need her. How on earth could she move to the other side of the world. It's just not going to happen. There is so so much I want to say about this book, and I know nothing I write is ever going to do the book any justice. It's a first class, funny, in parts hilarious read. Yet it also carries an element of ' if you want it, go get it' Stop letting things get in your way. Stop making obstacles for yourself. If you are going away this year, or just plan on sitting in your garden or even sitting in the park in your lunch break, this is the book you need with you.

Thrilled to be part of this blog blitz. Let's find out what this book is all about.
When a single mother, Julie Simon, is found in her kitchen with a stab wound to her stomach, Cumbria’s Major Crimes Team are handed the case. Under the supervision of DI Campbell and witîh advice from his former DI, Harry Evans, DC Amir Bhaki fights to discover who assaulted an innocent woman and left her with life-threatening injuries.
Nothing is as it first appears and when the team looks into Julie’s life they uncover a hidden sex-life that may just hold the key to the identity of her attacker. Fancy checking out some more about this book, here are the Blog Blitz details.
I'm finding the one a toughie to review, I feel like I should start with I'm not really sure I liked this book. I bloody loved it!
So why not do what I did. Grab a cuppa, a big bag of Maltesers, a blanket and get comfy. Pick up the book and get lost in those pages. Back in Cumbria with the Major Crimes Team. The team are tasked to find out who stabbed Julie Simmons. After she is found on her Kitchen floor, with serious injuries. DC Amir Bhaki while working the case, enlists the help of former boss, Harry Evans. Evans just can't help himself, but if helping Amir takes Harry's mind off his own situation then that's good for Harry. Helping Amir soon gets them looking on the right track. Not all is as it seems, and as this is a tough case it's going to need the whole team pulling together. As this is a short story I really don't want to go into too much of the book, I would hate to spoil it to much for anyone. It seems like forever since I read one of the Major Crimes Team books, Since the last one, I have read 3 of Grahams other books from his Boulder series. Oh my days, you need to also read those. As always with his books, even this short story at just less than 100 pages, Graham Smith manages to pack everything into it. Everything you want from a damn good read, is here in this book. What more needs saying? Just treat yourself and buy it. ( you might as well buy all Grahams other books, because trust me, you'll want to read them ALL.

First, the Crown itself has had heavy involvement with New York City where I first saw it. Second, I love and live part time in Macerata Province of Le Marche, Italy. So half of the story takes place here, where I am typing in the presence of my muse. In New York City, the lights on the broad avenues and the side streets really do twinkle, like the lights of Paris. The Crown itself sparkles as it is, among many other things, the world’s largest collection of emeralds. Now and likely forever, it is encased at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City because The Met acquired the Crown just a couple of years ago. But the auction houses are luminous and the Crown has seen its time there, too. It is a work deliberately made of the most precious of metals, gold. Le Marche, however, is quite a different story, isn’t it? Everything that symbolizes the beauties of the earth is here. It is the antithesis of urban sophistication. Loreto near the Adriatic Sea is a hugely important place in the veneration of the Virgin Mary who is central to the story. Le Marche is, according to some, the most beautiful part of Italy. It certainly has all that Italy offers nestled right here in this one region: the blue sea, the dramatic mountains, and the rolling green hills covered with olives and vines between. Le Marche’s hills are dotted by small medieval towns, one of which I named Castello Piceno in the novel. In the narrow streets of these picturesque towns many secrets are buried. Lives continue here, too. More stories unfold. It is a luscious but somewhat mysterious place. Unlike the grand palazzi of Rome, Venice and Florence that travelers know so well, these small buildings angle this way and that without telling who hid under the arches and behind the thick crenellated walls during the worst siege of the area in this era or that. New York City and the Crown of the Andes are dazzlers, the very apex of urban sophistication in contrast to the very essence of bucolic splendor in Le Marche. The Crown of the Andes itself transcends many landscapes, cultures and centuries, the mortal and the immortal. In real life, the Crown of the Andes has had astounding adventures in magnificent places. This story deserves no less. The Matter of the Crown The Crown of the Andes, one of the world's most precious and beautiful sacred objects, has been stolen right off the stage at Satterling's Auction House in New York City. Five pounds of magnificent baroque gold that ransomed the Inca Ruler Atahaulpa, and hundreds of perfect Colombian emeralds, all gone without a trace! Will this legendary treasure be destroyed for its gold and emeralds? One woman is dead and another one in hot pursuit. Purchase from Amazon UK: About Linda Ferreri Linda Ferreri is a well-known art lawyer and author.
