An uplifting romantic comedy about sisters, friendship and the love of good food.
Ohhh the Golden sands of Sunset Bay, as soon as I started reading this I wanted a holiday. Having just spent a long weekend at the seaside as soon as I started to read this book I could almost smell the sea, and I kind of wish I had read this while I was there. Because while reading this at home it was actually snowing and I had the fire blazing. (bloody snow in April) It's a good job I was reading this at the time as it lightened my mood.
This is the first book I have read by RP, but I have to say i'm going to go and read her first book, Return To Bluebell Hill real soon. If it's anything like this one, then it will be perfect for me to read in the garden when the weather improves.
This book is the story of two sisters who are leading very different lives. Drifted apart over time. The trouble is one of the sisters doesn't know why they are not so close anymore.
Mia Chatman lives in Sunset Bay, loves her life and runs a Diner, that she inherited from her grandmother.
Laurie Chatman, Mia's sister one day decides to take some leave from her stressful job and go visit her sister. Her welcome isn't very warm. But the sisters soon get together and the reasons behind them not being as close as they once were, all comes out.
It is then that the sisters become to grow as friends again. It's a great sisterly bond that is repaired. They both then have the ups and downs of life and love and in this book you can follow them on this journey.
It's very well written and the description of the place and things in an around Sunset Bay are told perfectly.
A very heart-warming story. A great book to curl up with and lose yourself for a while.
I was delighted to receive an ARC of this book via Netgalley.
