The Girl With All The Gifts by M. R. Carey
Little, Brown Book Group UK
NOT EVERY GIFT IS A BLESSING
Every morning, Melanie waits in her cell to be collected for class.
When they come for her, Sergeant Parks keeps his gun pointing at her while two of his people strap her into the wheelchair. She thinks they don't like her. She jokes that she won't bite. But they don't laugh.
Melanie is a very special girl.
Emotionally charged and gripping from beginning to end, THE GIRL WITH ALL THE GIFTS is the most powerful and affecting thriller you will read this year.
Thank you to the publishers and Netgalley for my review copy of this book.
This is one of those books that leave you thinking about it, even when you put it down.
A difficult one to write about for fear of giving to much away, and not wishing to spoil it for other readers.
This story is based around a young ten year old girl Melanie. Who spends most of her time locked up in cell, then is taken out of her cell to go and learn, Melanie really enjoys learning.
I found the book quite interesting to start off with, and kept wondering where it was all going.
It is an interesting read, but just not for me if i'm honest.
It's well thought out and well put together and looking at other reviews some have loved it. so maybe this is one of those books that you will either love or you wont.
