‘Now that I’ve read all of Sue Watson’s books I can say this has to be her best yet. Even though I really enjoyed her two previous ones, there’s something about ‘Love, Lies and Lemon Cake’ that screams with honesty, warmth pouring out of its pages... a wonderful, original story full of heart.’ 5/5 This Chick Reads

‘Sue has an absolutely amazing way of making you feel the emotions of her characters, and making you step into their shoes.’ Kim the Bookworm
'The book is a magnificent read about never letting go of your dreams, and never being too old to follow them. It has humor in all the right places and the characters all have their individual quirks to keep the reader interested. I was hooked from page 1 of the book and found myself whizzing through the pages to find out what would happen between Faye and Dan and whether she would get to that New York rooftop. A great change from my usual Crime fiction books.
But by god I enjoyed this. It was just a real good, fun, laugh out loud book.
Great Characters, that you instantly like. Maybe there is a bit of all of us in Faye. (well those of us that are 40+)
I found myself going off on this Journey with Faye, and all the time wanting a happy ever after. I love the way to book flows and end's. not your typical happy ever after but 2 people finding a way for a great relationship to work with what is best for them.
There comes a time in your life when you have to start to do things for yourself. And the time has come for Faye. She embraces her life and the new Faye emerges a better and happier person.
So get yourself a large drink, a large slice of Lemon cake sit back and read and enjoy.
I must say a big thanks to my fellow blogger friend Kat, who's review of this book made me want to read it. I'm so glad i did.
I think once pay day arrives I will be buying more books by this author.

Love, Lies and Lemon Cake is a hilarious, bittersweet comedy about taking your life back before it’s too late.
Faye Dobson has lost her sparkle. Living on film star fantasies and vague memories of a marriage that once was, she can’t help feeling that life is passing her by. She dreams of being whisked to Paris for dinner, making three wishes at the Trevi fountain and having sex under the stars. But the wrinkles are multiplying, her husband’s passion is for plumbing, and the nearest she’ll get to Rome is a take-away pizza.
So when Faye meets Dan the gorgeous Australian surfer guy working in the local deli she can’t help but wonder what it would be like to see the world. He is blonde, tanned, ten years younger and bakes the most amazing lemon cake. Unlike her husband Dan actually listens to Faye, his smile makes her feel fizzy inside, and when he smiles... Oh. My. God.
But is Faye being silly? What would Dan see in someone like her? Even if he did have feelings for her, could she give up everything to be with him?
