Description One by one the girls disappeared… When the frail body of a teenage girl is discovered strangled in a parking lot, shards of ice form in Detective Natalie Ward’s veins. As Natalie looks at the freckles scattered on her cheeks and the pale pink lips tinged with blue, she remembers that this innocent girl is somebody’s daughter… The girl is identified as missing teenager Amelia Saunders, who has run away from home and her controlling father. Natalie’s heart sinks further when it becomes clear that Amelia has been working on the streets, manipulated by her violent new boyfriend Tommy. A day later, another vulnerable girl is found strangled on a park bench. Like Amelia, Katie Bray was a runaway with connections to Tommy, and Natalie is determined to find him and track down the monster attacking these scared and lonely girls. But when a wealthy young woman is found murdered the next morning, the word ‘guilty’ scrawled on her forehead, Natalie realises that the case is more complex than she first thought. Determined to establish a connection between her three victims, Natalie wastes no time in chasing down the evidence, tracing everyone who crossed their paths. Then, a key suspect’s body turns up in the canal, a mole in Natalie’s department leaks vital information and everything seems to be against her. Can Natalie stop this clever and manipulative killer before they strike again? An unputdownable crime thriller from an Amazon bestselling author that will have you sleeping with the light on. This gripping rollercoaster ride is perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott and Rachel Caine. Prepare to be totally hooked!
Book 7 is a fantastic addition to this series. DI Natalie Ward has had some big changes in her life recently. If you haven't read the previous books then maybe it's not time to read this review as it may contain spoilers.
I know I say this a lot but to get the best of this series knowing the back history is best so I would advise that you read the books in the series in the correct order. It possibly would be good as a standalone, but for the best of it read them all. Natalie is slowly getting to grips with her new living arrangements and her love life. Having gone through all the trauma she has in the past its nice to see Natalie attempting to take charge of herself again. Having had promotion recently this doesn't stop Natalie from needing to be very involved this this latest case. When the body of a young girl is found it's all hands to the deck as they say. More so when another body is found. There has to be a link somewhere and the team go out of their way to discover what is behind these killings. I love the main characters in Carole's book, they seem to be brought to life being back with Natalie was like meeting up with an old friend. Fantastic storyline as usual it will keep you gripped from start to finish. Twisty beyond twisty. It was good trying to guess which way certain things would go. Carol has written another blinder of a book that fans will love.

The one place she never wanted to go back to. The one place she can’t escape.
When she was just five years old, Lucy Murphy witnessed her mother’s brutal murder in their home on London’s notorious Griffin Estate. The case was never solved. Now a newly qualified police officer, Lucy has been given her first job: she’s going back to the Griffin Estate. She is there to protect the estate’s vulnerable residents, including Shannon and Kian Winters, two kids struggling to deal with their alcoholic mother. Fifteen-year-old Shannon is working every spare hour to keep a roof over their heads, but thirteen-year-old Kian has fallen under the sway of gang leader Jax Priestly. And now Jax has plans for Shannon too… As Lucy gets to know Kian and Shannon she becomes determined not to let the two teenagers become Jax’s victims. But time is running out. Jax is out of control, and the gang’s violent reprisals are escalating. Can Lucy face down her own demons in time to prevent a tragedy? As a child, she already witnessed the murder of one innocent person. It will take all her courage and training to stop another. A shocking, fast-paced read that will keep you gripped from beginning to end. Fans of Kimberley Chambers and Martina Cole won’t be able to put this down.
Well well!
Casey Kelleher does it again. What another fantabulous read. It's safe to say I have never been disappointed with any book by this author, this is an author that I don't even need to read what the book is about, if CK has written it, I want to read it. CK is an expert at drawing you into the story, making you feel like you could almost be a part of these lives. You are certainly kept on your toes when reading these books. Lucy Murphy witnessed tragedy in her childhood. Its something you would never wish anyone to see, never mind a young child. Lucy is a police officer with a heart and back working on the estate in which she grew up. The Griffin estate is one of those estates you love to hear or read about but would not like to actually live on. Now working in CID, Lucy has no choice but to be there as this is where her case needs investigating. Some fantastic characters in this book I really liked getting to know Lucy and her Nan, whom she looks after was wonderful character with a heart-breaking story, I really felt involved with this part of the book more than the rest, I really got myself involved in wanting to actually help her. This delicate subject in the book has been done beautifully. Amazing journey following the character in this book, there are some horrible, (but you can't help liking) kind of characters, and characters that you just love and are rooting for. I enjoyed the story of brother and sister Shannon and Kian. Shannon is young with her head on her shoulders and her brother is getting mixed up in to thigs he shouldn't be. following their day to day lives was realistic and topical. Typical estate behaviour. I can't recommend this book highly enough and no words I have will ever do it justice. The best thing to do is treat yourself, put your feet up and have a good read. I'd love to hear what others thought of it. fantastic read.

DescriptionIt had seemed so simple. Get in, get the information, get out. But now they were getting inside her mind and she didn’t know how to stop them…
When Detective Kim Stone is called to the home of Samantha Brown, she finds the young woman lying in bed with her throat cut and a knife in her hand. With no sign of forced entry or struggle, Kim rules her death a tragic suicide. But a visit to Samantha’s parents rings alarm bells for Kim – there’s something they’re not telling her. And, when she spots a clue in a photograph, Kim realises she’s made a huge mistake. Samantha didn’t take her own life, she was murdered. Then a young man’s body is found in a local lake with his throat cut and Kim makes a link between the victim and Samantha. They both spent time at Unity Farm, a retreat for people seeking an alternative way of life. Beneath the retreat’s cosy façade, Kim and her team uncover a sinister community preying on the emotionally vulnerable. Sending one of her own undercover into Unity Farm is high risk but it’s Kim’s only hope if she is to catch a killer – someone Kim is convinced the victims knew and trusted. With Bryant distracted by the emergence of a harrowing case close to his heart, and an undercover officer in way over her head, Kim’s neck is on the line like never before. Can she protect those closest to her before another life is taken? An unbelievably gripping crime thriller from multi-million copy bestseller Angela Marsons that will have you hooked on the Detective Kim Stone series. Book 12.. Still going strong, still interesting, still unputdownable. The End What can I say, we seem to waste our lives away waiting for new books to come out. This one was well worth waiting for, a fantastic addition to the series. There has been no better place for me to be the last few days than in the world of Kim Stone. So a big thank you to the very talented writer, Angela Marsons for taking me away from the troubles of the world for a short while. I would say you could read this instalment as a standalone, but with all books that are part of a series, it's always better to read the books in order. You learn and grow with the characters this way, you know any back history. I have found in the past that some series when they are so good start to go a little bland the more books are published, we sometimes see story lines becoming the same etc. Not with these books, I find each and everyone fresh, topical and current. This series shines better each time a new book is published. Kim Stone has become a favourite with many crime thriller readers and it's no surprise. She's a first class character and one who you just keep learning about. The team have a new case to work on, what appears to be a suicide is quickly dismissed. Kim and Keats had first agreed that this was suicide, but something is nagging at Kim, and Kim likes to trust her instincts. Maybe just maybe is wasn't suicide. There is soon another body found and it doesn't take to long for a link between this and the suicide victim to be discovered. These tow victims had spent time at a local farm and this has to be where some of clues can be found. the team are sure that this farm holds a lot of answers for them. These books grab you as soon as you start reading, and don't spit you out until that last page. they are almost like a drug, as you find yourself craving for more, very addictive.
When everything changes, you have to come out fighting. It’s been three years since Anna Davis’s boyfriend Freddie Tyler was sent to prison, now he’s back on the streets of London and about to find out that everything has changed. As Freddie enters his West End club for the first time in years, he finds ex-girlfriend Anna Davis sitting behind his desk, confidently leading his team of men. Anna used to hate the world he lived in, but she has now become a big part of it. And she’s not about to give up running the family business easily. Anna shows a toughness Freddie has never witnessed in her before when she tells him about her new enterprise, smuggling stolen diamonds through London’s Hatton Garden. And alarm bells start ringing when Freddie meets Anna’s new partner. Cold and ruthless, Roman Gains isn’t someone Freddie trusts around the club and particularly not around Anna. Whilst tensions flare between Anna and Freddie, a new Russian firm enters their world, determined to bring the Tylers down. And when they take out one of his best men, Freddie has to take drastic action to wrestle control from Anna. But she has other ideas. And when Roman becomes Anna’s closest ally, Freddie finally reaches breaking point. Could this be the fall of the Tyler empire and the last time Freddie and Anna are on the same side?
Current, fresh addictive reading. This author knows what her readers want and delivers every time. Each and every single book has gotten better. I didn't think it was possible but it was.
Things have changed in the world for Freddie and Anna, Freddie has been inside and Anna has been in charge of his empire. Can Anna just step aside and walk away from all her hard work? No she wants in on the business full time. Freddie soon realises just how much Anna has changed and he's put her in this world. Someone is out to cause trouble and it's going to be survival of the fittest to get through. I'm loving how the Characters had grown and been built around. How their worlds have changed so much since the first book. The stories always take over you, written so well you are unable to put the books down. Emma Tallon is an exceptional writer and I can't wait to see what is in store in future books.
Megan has to climb round and step across the body to get a proper view. What’s left is like a chalk white mask in the rough shape of a face. The innocence is still there, and a hint of the cheekiness. But perhaps she is imagining that.
Detective Megan Thomas moved to Devon for a fresh start, after years spent undercover. She’s staying with her sister and swimming in the sea daily, battling the tides and letting the waves wash her past away. But she can’t outrun everything. On her first day back, she’s called to a murder. The body lies deep in an underground bunker, and when Megan forces herself to look, it triggers a panic attack. As her heart races and her breathing stalls, she realises she’s not sure if she can go back to life in a regular crime unit. Her memories are too powerful to be buried – maybe too powerful to let her do her job. But when another body is found on the stretch of beach where she swims every day, Megan remembers why she joined the force, and what she’s fighting for. The victim came to the police for help, and Megan knows they failed her. She won’t rest until she gets answers. But how can she find justice for others, when she’s no longer sure of herself? A completely gripping new series from bestselling author Susan Wilkins, introducing the tough and determined Detective Megan Thomas. For fans of Ann Cleeves, LJ Ross and Mari Hannah, this will keep you hooked from the first page to the last.
Having read other books by this author in her Kaz Phelps series I was looking forward to seeing what would be offered in this book, the first one to feature Detective Megan Thomas.
I love starting a new series and starting from the very beginning is best. I like to get know the characters early on. I enjoy being able to learn about the character and seeing them grow. The main character is Megan Thomas. After working undercover Megan now lives with her sister and getting back into life that isn't undercover. Working for the Major Crime team in Devon a new case is thrown at Megan. It soon becomes clear that Megan has issues she needs to work through and has a panic attack at the scene. Megan needs to learn to control this and get herself back to the person she was, even if it is going to be so difficult. I think I'm going to like Megan as a character, I think she's going to have so much to offer and I believe this could be a pretty damn good series. I am looking forward to what is offered in future books. The Secret Admirer By Carol Wyer #Book6 #Review #NatalieWard @CarolEwyer @Bookouture #BlogTour3/4/2020

Oh my days... All the god damn stars for this book. 5 big fat Thrilling stars *****
What a superb series of books this is, I really have to admit now that I really was concerned over the ending of the previous book and what It could mean for our main character. I know I shouldn't have been worried because as usual CW has come back with an even better book and another fantastic story line. I sometimes think we need to worry about what goes on in the heads of these writers, where do idea's come from? Absoflippinglutley Brilliant to read. I'm not going to mention the big happenings in the previous book as I would hate to spoil it for anyone who is yet to read it, but if you are going to treat yourself to these books, then you need to really treat yourself and read them in order. It makes for a much better reading experience. What a start we had to this book, A young girl is attacked with Acid being thrown in her face, how dreadful that must have been for her, the agony it would cause. It killed her almost immediately. Who could commit a brutal evil attack of this nature. It's down to Natalie Ward and her team to investigate. Natalie is called back to work after being off for a few months following on from her last case and her own personal demons. Is Natalie in the right frame of mind to head this case, or is her personal life and drama's going to stop her doing her job? The only way to find out is by reading books. The book takes some amazing turns with lots of things thrown in that you really were not expecting. When Natalie is forced to question someone she knows regarding the murder, can she keep her cool and investigate as things seem to becoming nearer to home for her and a little more personal. This is book 6 in this series, a series I have to say was a surprise at as I was loving Carols other series of books with Detective Robyn Carter. I wasn't sure at first how I felt with a whole new series, but my goodness it's turned out good. Its one of the best series of books I've read and the author certainly isn't scared of taking characters out of their comfort zone and making tough decisions. Again, a first class read as part of a first class series.

Natasha Mayston wasn’t expecting anyone to knock on her door so late at night. And she has no idea that the face staring back at her is the last one she’ll ever see…
As Detective Dan Lockhart is called to a wealthy London street to investigate Natasha’s death, he’s startled by the similarity to a previous case. Noticing the cable-tie restraints and the tiny scratches on Natasha’s wedding finger, Dan already knows what he will find if he looks in her mouth – the metal ball which choked her to death. He knows Natasha isn’t the killer’s first victim and is certain that he will strike again. Months earlier, Kim Hardy was found in the same position in a run-down hotel across the city – an identical silver ball in her throat. But Kim’s murderer was caught and sent to prison – did they arrest the wrong man? And what connects the two victims? Fearing that he’s dealing with a psychopathic serial killer, Dan calls in psychologist Dr Lexi Green to help him to get into the perpetrator’s mind. Tough and smart, Lexi will stop at nothing to hunt down the man responsible for the deaths. Then, another body is discovered, just as Lexi finds a clue online leading to the killer. Dan’s team aren’t convinced, but in pushing Lexi away from the investigation, they force her to dig further into the case on her own. Convinced that she’s on to something, she puts herself in unthinkable danger… but can Dan piece together the clues and identify the killer before it’s too late? Fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Cara Hunter will love this thrilling new series from Chris Merritt. From an explosive start to a heart-stopping finale, you will not want to put this book down!
I was thrilled when I saw this book. I have read some of this authors other work and got a little giddy when I noticed this was the start of a new series. I feel this introduction to Detective Dan Lockhart and Dr Green was brilliant. I love getting to know new characters. These are 2 characters I can really see building through futer books. I think they have a lot to offer us readers and I cant wait to see what Chris Merritt decideds for them.
I found that i needed to keep reading that I wanted to know the who, why etc. A few times I thought I had the answers, but clearly I didn't which was a great way of putting those twists in there, making you feel you know what s coming. You don't so you then have to continue. It was interesting getting to know our new characters as I said, Dan Lockhart is a married man, but his wife went missing and he hasn't seen her since. This is always at the back of his mind when he's going about his work and everyday life, it will be interesting to see how that part of the story develops, i'm just hoping it's not something that is going to go on forever like another crime authors books. I do feel this was certainly a well written book with a story to keep you hooked, and I really do look forward to what will come in future books. Now is the time to treat yourself and order this book, start a new series and enjoy your reading.
All’s fair in love and war… but what happens when the war is over?
After the heartbreak of World War Two, newlywed midwife Cathy hoped Liverpool life would offer some joy. But a terrible miscarriage and the escape of her abusive stepfather Jack from prison make happiness hard to find. Meanwhile, Cathy’s beloved granny is ailing. Whilst at the hospital, Cathy sees her midwifery friends, who are planning to open a home for unmarried mothers. After losing a baby of her own Cathy would love to help, but for now, she must take care of her grandmother. As her granny’s health worsens, she writes Cathy a letter. The day her grandmother dies, Cathy goes home and opens the envelope: Thank you for giving me a reason to live. Everything I have in the world is yours now, my darling. Cathy is devastated but determined to honour her granny’s memory, hoping the maternity home can be her legacy. Just as Cathy and her friends are about to open their doors to the first expectant mothers, Jack is spotted in Liverpool. It’s only a matter of time until her cruel stepfather catches up with her, determined to pay her back for getting him locked up in prison. Can Cathy keep herself and her grandmother’s legacy safe, and see Jack sent away for good at last? The Midwives of Lark Lane is a heart-wrenching saga about how the best friendships can help you through the worst of times. If you’re a fan of Nadine Dorries, Diney Costeloe and Kitty Neale, you’ll love Pam Howes! Now this is a book series I love. Everything about these books is just fantastic. The writing, the story lines, the characters, each time I've read one of these books I have loved every single page. I could happily read this series every day forever. Selfishly the author seems to think that she should have a life outside of books. lol only joking. I felt like I was going back in time and meeting up with old friends with this book, the familiar characters and their family lives. For me I think the only character I don't much like is Jack. I don't think we are supposed to like him, which is what means for me, that Pam has done the job she intended. I wont go into detail as I wouldn't like to spoil this for anyone who hasn't read the previous books,( can I ask why you haven't read them) I would say you could read these books in any order, but why would you want to do that? it's worth reading them in the correct order to follow the back story of the characters, although the author does give you enough background if you didn't want to read them all. Cathy and Gianni are now travelling with his family. Cathy isn't very keen on this and would rather have permanent roots. A home not a caravan. Cathy and her daughter end up returning to Liverpool as circumstances change. I found myself rooting for this family, I wanted and needed them to do well. It still fascinates me as we go back in time with this series, how very very different things were back then. The fact that a home is needed for young unmarried ladies who found themselves pregnant. How times have change and and perceptions on certain things are so different. This is a family saga you do not want to miss. This book is available via Kindle unlimited for free if you are a member, if not you can try out their free trial. The Blossom Twins #BlogTour
Their parents thought they were hiding…
One beautiful summer’s evening, thirteen-year-old twins Ivy and Erin Westmore snuggle down in a tent in their back garden, giggling and sharing secrets. When their mother goes to wake the girls the next morning, their tent is empty. The alarm is raised and Detective Natalie Ward is put onto the case. When the twins’ bodies are discovered on nearby marshland, covered with deep pink petals, an icy shiver travels down Natalie’s spine. Everything about the girls’ deaths reminds her of a horrifying case she worked on earlier in her career, which saw a killer of the worst kind placed behind bars. The next day, that feeling is heightened when she receives a chilling note saying ‘I’m back’. Is this killer a copycat or did Natalie put the wrong person in prison all those years ago? In a small town, where no stranger goes unnoticed, what is Natalie missing? Consumed by the case, determined to prevent more deaths, Natalie misses the fact that it is her attention the killer wants. And to get it, he has his sights set firmly on her precious daughter Leigh… Gripping, fast-paced and nail-bitingly tense, this book will keep you flying through the pages long into the night. Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Rachel Abbott and Karin Slaughter.
