After reading this book a few years ago and loving it. I was thrilled when I got the chance to listen to it on Audio.
Not being sure what to expect, I took my phone and headphones, on a walk, then took it to work, then It ended up going everywhere with me, including the dentist it took my mind off that horrible man with his hands in my mouth. lol. It was funny as although I had read the book, with it being a few years ago, I had forgotten a lot of what happened, and found listening to this, interesting and exciting. Many kindle books have the text to speach enabled, and if you have ever listened to it, you will know it sounds very robotic and hard to follow. This is not the case witht he audio version, it was like having someone with a great soothing voice follow me around reading to me. Great for when you want to read, but haven't got the chance to sit down. I'm now listening to this for the 2nd time while i get stuck into my housework. The audio book is brilliant and I would love to listen to more books in future.

Another author to watch out for. If this first book is anything to go by. Firstly I want to say a huge thank you to the publishers for a review copy of this book. This was certainly my sort of book. I enjoyed it right from the beginning. And can not wait to see what Susan Wilkins does next. I believe there is going to be a sequel to this book, and by god I can not wait. A fantastic read. And I believe fans of authors Like Martina Cole, Casey Kelleher, Helen black, Jessie Keane and on and on (to name just a few) would really enjoy this book. As a very keen reader, I love books in this Genre, and it still amazes me when we get a new author who can deliver the story as good as, if not better than some of the leading authors in this category. #police #lawyer’s #gangster’s #prison #drugs #murder. What more can you ask for in a book. Once I started this I really didn’t want to put it down, and I found the more I read, the more I wanted to carry on reading. And although it was a fantastic read and I really needed to get to the end, once I was near the end, I wanted to put the book down so that I didn’t finish it. And OH MY GOD What an ending. We are introduced to the wonderful (ok Not so wonderful) Phelps family. Joey the up and coming wanna be gangster, has taken over the family firm. After Dad is no longer in a position to run it. Joey seems to be a bit of a loose cannon, and you can’t help liking him and hating him at the same time. Along with his side kick Ash, Joey seems to just be able to find trouble, and being so badly wanted by the police you would think he would try staying out of it. (Although that would have been boring lol) His sister Karen is just released from Prison after serving 6 years of her 12 year sentence. Karen wants nothing to do with the family business, and is determined to continue her ART studies that she started whilst in prison; she wants to enrol into collage and be left to get on with things. But being part of the Phelps family this might not be the plan that Big brother has for her. Kaz was really likeable throughout the book. At times she seemed a very confused young lady, not knowing what she wanted or how to go about it. Her head was very mixed up at times, but I think that is understandable. Maybe getting a little to close to her Lawyer. And not coping to well with being followed by a not so undercover, undercover cop. But the police want this family off the streets, and it seems they will stop at nothing to get what they want. Karen’s younger sister has not done to well for herself whilst Karen has been in Prison, and Karen is not happy that Joey hasn’t taken care of her. When Cousin Sean is also released from Prison, he thinks its only right that he takes over as the head of the family business. But is Joey about to stand back and let him, or has Joey got used to being the main man and doesn’t want Sean by his side. One thing is for sure. Things are going to get messy. Who can survive and come out the other end. Well you need to read it and find out. A must read..... 5/5 This book will certainly be in *one of my best books read this year* group. Come on Susan you now have a fan club eagerly awaiting your next book, and we are praying you can deliver something just as good if not better. Fear No Evil
a book that mixes paranormal and crime fiction together and does it really well. It was also quite an easy read, so didn’t take long to get into, and wanted to carry on reading just to see what happened. It also has its fair share of humour and one liners. The story is set in Liverpool with Private investigator called Jayne McCartney (Not related to Sir Paul) Jayne takes on a case of a young girl who has apparently committed suicide jumping from a flat window. She enlists the help of a rather sexy and hunky former priest Dan Lennon. And together they work at trying to figure out if it was suicide or something more sinister. I was a little slow with realising the names. Lennon and McCartney. But chuckled once it clicked. Lol. _Fear No Evil is a really good enjoyable read. 3/5 _ Unlike many other readers. I have not read many of Marian Keyes books, and without going checking my years old archive I could maybe say this is the first one. So with this book I wasn't comparing it to any other work. I enjoyed the book, it was *different* i found it quite an easy enjoyable read, with the odd giggle and the odd gasp. The book kept my attention to a certain degree, and overall it was an ok/enjoyable read. Stella Sweeney is back in Dublin. After living the dream in New York for a year - touring her self-help book, appearing on talk shows all over the USA and living it up in her 10-room duplex on the Upper West Side - she's back to normality with a bang. And she's got writer's block. Stella wants a clean break as she didn't exactly leave New York on a high. Why is she back in Ireland so soon? Who is it who keeps calling? Stella wants to get back to being the woman she used to be. But can she? And should she? Just Brilliant. 5/5
Well worth the wait. OMG How excited was I to receive an early copy of this book. I couldn't wait to get stuck in. It seemed like foreverago since I read Dreada Say Mitchell books. Although this book is different from her other books, right from the first page I loved this book. It didn't take me long to get sucked right into the story. We start off this book with a Murder. What do you do if you wake up in a sleezy hotel room, and the woman you went there with is now dead in the bathroom, brutally murdered, you have a gun shot wound to your head, and you have no bloody idea what the hell happened. Well you go searching for answers, answers that might just get you into trouble, or at best just killed. No big deal, as long as you get the truth. Well that is exactly what happened to Mac. I really liked him, although he was at times hard to figure out, and a little crazy. Well more than a little, he was kind of crazier than a big bag of crazy things. But likable. I found myself many times talking to the characters in the book, now i'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing. lol. But to me it means that the author has managed to get you sucked in and involved in what is going on. I sooo needed to know Who-What-Why.? all the way through I suspected everyone of not being what they say they are, I become very suspicious of everyone, and didn't know who could and couldn't be trusted. An amazing book, well worth reading. This book is certainly going to be in my top 10 read of 2014. Just Brilliant. I wanted to sit and read this in one sitting, but I found I was actually really good (bloody hard to do) but I took my time and just read a few chapters at a time. I really liked the short chapters in this book, as it's easy to *read just one more chapter*. 'Breathless from the first word, thrilling to the last.' Lee Child 'Wonderful vivid writing and a truly original voice.' Peter James Two murders. Two different crime scenes. One killer? Mac wakes in an smashed-up hotel room with no recollection of what has happened. With his lover's corpse in the bathroom and the evidence suggesting that he killed her, Mac is on a mission to uncover the truth and find the real killer. But he's in a race against time with less than a day to unravel the mystery. Still reeling from a personal tragedy Mac isn't afraid of pain. Hot on his heels is tenacious Detective Inspector Rio Wray. Double-crossed and in the line of fire, Mac has to swim through a sea of lies to get to the truth. But only Mac knows he's been living a double life. Can he be sure he doesn't have the blood of a dead woman on his hands?
